Wir sind jetzt auf dem mexikanischen Festland. Nach der Ankunft im Hafen fahren wir erst in die Stadt um unsere Wassertanks und Vorr\u00e4te aufzuf\u00fcllen. Abends treffen wir uns dann mit Irmgard und Klaus, mit denen wir die n\u00e4chsten zwei Wochen im Konvoi fahren, an einem Strand s\u00fcdlich von Mazatlan. Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen qu\u00e4len wir uns erstmal \u00fcber Nebenstrassen und durch kleine Ortschaften mit Baustellen und Umleitungen. F\u00fcr ca. 40 km brauchen wir 1,5 Stunden. Ab Rosarito geht es dann \u00fcber de MEX-15 weiter. An den Ortschaften ist die Stra\u00dfe rechts und links ges\u00e4umt mit kleinen St\u00e4nden, die Camarones verkaufen oder typisch mexikanisches \u201eFast-Food\u201c anbieten. Wir machen dann auch an einem dieser St\u00e4nde Mittagspause und bekommen sehr leckere Tortillas. F\u00fcr umgerechnet \u20ac 7 werden wir beide satt. Auf der weiteren Strecke sehen wir viele Kokospalmen und bl\u00fchende Str\u00e4ucher. Unser Tagesziel ist eine Pemex-Tankstelle, wo wir das Schneckerl-Team, treffen wollen. Gegen 16:00h treffen wir dann dort ein und werden freudig begr\u00fc\u00dft. Wir sitzen so lange wie m\u00f6glich abends zusammen drau\u00dfen und quatschen. Morgens hei\u00dft es dann Abschied nehmen. Hoffentlich sehen wir uns irgendwann mal wieder. Die Landschaft ist sehr abwechslungsreich und wir sehen viele Str\u00e4ucher, B\u00e4ume, Palmen und kleine Obst- und Gem\u00fcseplantagen. Gegen 14h erreichen wir Ixtalan del Rio, einen kleinen netten Ort. Wir fahren aber direkt durch bis zu der arch\u00e4ologischen Anlage. Dort ruhen wir uns erst etwas aus, doch dann ist es zu sp\u00e4t um die Tempel noch zu besichtigen. Den Rundgang machen wir dann am Morgen, bevor wir weiter fahren. Wieder kommen wir durch kleine Orte bis wir mit ein bi\u00dfchen Kutschiererei durch enge Stra\u00dfen unseren anvisierten Stellplatz aus iOverlander in Tequila erreichen. W\u00e4hrend Irmgard und Klaus noch Pause machen, laufen wir schon mal zum Zocalo. Dort ist richtig viel los. \u00dcberall stehen H\u00e4ndler und Verzehrbuden. Es ist zwar schon touristisch, aber wir k\u00f6nnen uns die St\u00e4nde noch anschauen, ohne permanent bedr\u00e4ngt zu werden. Schlie\u00dflich erstehe ich f\u00fcr ca. \u20ac 5 noch einen Hut und dann machen wir uns wieder auf den Weg zum Auto. Ralph und Klaus laufen abends nochmal eine Runde, sind aber relativ schnell wieder zur\u00fcck. Die Nacht war nicht sehr ruhig, da in einer nahegelegenen Halle offenbar eine Hochzeit gefeiert wurde. Bis 2h wurden wir mit Lautsprechern beschallt. Zusammen laufen wir zum Zocalo und machen eine F\u00fchrung in einer der vielen Tequila Distillerien. Die Infos sind schon sehr beeindruckend und wir bekommen 5 Verk\u00f6stigungen. Die erste ist direkt nach dem ersten Brand, wenn der Tequila noch 60% Alkohol hat. Wir besichtigen noch den Shop und probieren einen Tequilalik\u00f6r und laufen dann noch ein bi\u00dfchen durchs Zentrum, ehe wir zu unserem Stellplatz zur\u00fcck gehen. Wir bleiben noch einen Tag und laufen durch den Ort. Die M\u00e4nner besch\u00e4ftigen sich mit der Navigationssoftware und den passenden Karten. Heute wollen wir bis Guadalajara. Mit kurzen Stopps gelangen wir durch kleine Strassen zu einem bewachten Parkplatz. Raoul, der Betreiber, stellt noch zwei Autos um, dann stehen unsere Autos gut. Irmgard und Klaus laufen in die Stadt. Wir erledigen aber erst noch die W\u00e4sche und versuchen eine SIM-Karte f\u00fcr unseren ASUS in der Nachbarschaft zu kaufen. Hier stehen einige sch\u00f6ne alte Geb\u00e4ude. Der n\u00e4chste Tag steht ganz im Zeichen der Stadt. Wir laufen zu Fu\u00df zur Kathedrale. Auf dem Weg dorthin kaufen wir gutes Brot und schweizer K\u00e4se und gehen in ein kleines Gesch\u00e4ft, wo Gitarren gebaut werden. Nat\u00fcrlich ist Ralph hin und weg. Zum Mittagessen gehen wir in den Mercado Libertad. Dann laufen wir noch was durch die Stadt, wechseln Geld und dann, ja, wir gehen nochmal in den Gitarrenladen und kaufen eine Gitarre. Zur\u00fcck am Platz planen wir, wie wir die n\u00e4chsten paar Tage weiter machen wollen. Gegen 9:30h brechen wir auf und stoppen schon das erste mal in Tlaquepaque, einem sch\u00f6nen Ort mit viel Kunsthandwerk. Nach dem Mittagessen fahren wir weiter aber gegen 14:00h macht Albatros auf einmal Probleme. Die Motortemperatur ist auf 100 Grad und der \u00d6ldruck f\u00e4llt. Wir stoppen zum Abk\u00fchlen neben der Stra\u00dfe. Klaus kommt nach einer Weile zur\u00fcck. Langsam fahren wir zusammen weiter nach Atontilco el Alto zu Charly\u2019s Restaurant, wo wir von Eddi begr\u00fc\u00dft und auf die Stellpl\u00e4tze eingewiesen werden, ehe wir ein sehr gutes Abendessen genie\u00dfen. Wir bleiben 4 N\u00e4chte hier und verbringen die Zeit mit Faulenzen, Waschen, Bildbearbeitung etc. Einen Tag f\u00e4hrt Charly mit Ralph in die Stadt zu einer Autowerkstatt und f\u00fcr umgerechnet ca. \u20ac 100 bekommen wir ein neues St\u00fcck Auspuff. Am Sonntag findet ein mexikanisches Rodeo statt, dass wir uns nat\u00fcrlich nicht engehen lassen wollen. Ganz verstanden haben wir die einzelnen Darbietungen zwar nicht, aber es herrschte gute Stimmung und war interessant, die Mexikaner zu erleben. <\/p>\n

\nWe\u2019re now traveling on Mexican mainland. After we disembarked the ferry, we first need to refill our water tank and stock up our supplies. In the evening we meet Irmgard and Klaus (we\u2019ll be travelling the next two weeks together) at a beach south of Mazatlan. The first 25 miles in the morning are a bit of a torture. For 1.5 hrs we drive on minor roads, through small villages with road works and deviations not really suitable for our big rigs. In Rosarito we finally get back on MEX-15. When driving through villages the road is lined with small booths, offering camarones or typical Mexican \u201cFast-Food\u201d. We stop for lunch at one of these booths and for approx. \u20ac 7 get a delicious tortilla meal for both of us. When we continue, we see a lot of coconut palms and flowering bushes. Around 4 pm we reach a Pemex station, where we are planning to meet the \u201cSchneckerl-Team\u201d. They are already waiting for us. In the evening we sit outside together as long as possible and bring each other up to speed regarding the last couple of weeks. In the morning it is time to say good-bye again. Hopefully we\u2019ll meet again somewhere. The countryside is very diverse and we see a lot of bushes, trees, palms and fruit- and vegetable orchards. Around 2pm we reach Ixtalan del Rio, a very nice small town but we immediately drive through to the archeological site. We first relax a bit and then it is too late to do the tour of the area. We then visit the site in the morning prior to moving on. Again we drive through small villages and with a bit of back and forth through small streets we reach our destination on a side street in Tequila. Whilst Irmgard and Klaus take a break, we already walk to the zocalo. There are lots of vendors and food stands and a lot of activity. Although it is already pretty touristy we can still look at all the booths without being permanently bothered to buy something. I buy a sun hat for approx. \u20ac 5 and then we walk back to our car. In the evening Ralph and Klaus go again, but they are back pretty soon. The night was not very restful since there was a wedding party in a nearby event hall and we heard music until 2 am. Together we walk to the zocalo and then go on a tour through one of the many tequila distilleries. The info is very interesting and we get 5 tastings. The first one is immediately after the first distillation process when the tequila still has 60% alcohol. After the tour we visit the shop and taste a tequila liquor and then scroll through downtown. We stay for another day and again scroll through the city center. The men busy themselves with navigation software and maps for our trip. Our next destination is Guadalajara. Whit a few short stops and through small streets we reach the secure parking lot. Raoul, the owner, moves two other cars and then we fit as well. Irmgard and Klaus walk into town but we first take care of our laundry and try to buy a SIM card for the ASUS in the neighborhood an we see some very nice old buildings. The next day is fully blocked for the city. We walk to the cathedral. On the way we buy good bread, swiss chees and stop at a small shop where they build guitars. Ralph doesn\u2019t want to leave anymore. We have lunch at the Mercado Libertad, scroll through town, change money and then go back to the guitar shop and buy one. Back at the parking lot we plan how to move on the next couple of days. We leave around 9:3o am but already have a break at Tlaquepaque, a very nice suburb with lots of arts and crafts. After lunch we move on but around 2 pm we have problems with Albatros. The motor temperature is at 100 degrees Celsius and the oil pressure is falling. We stop besides the street to let it cool down and Klaus comes back as well. Slowly we continue together to Atonilco el Alto, where we stay at Charly\u2019s Restaurant. Eddie welcomes us and shows us where to park and then we have a very nice diner. We stay for four nights and spend the time with reading, laundry, photoshoping etc. One day Charly takes Ralph to a garage and for approx. \u20ac 100 we get a new part for our exhaust pipe. On Sunday there is a Mexican rodeo and of course we don\u2019t want to miss this event. We didn\u2019t fully understand the whole thing, but it was very interesting to see how the Mexicans spend the time. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
