Unser n\u00e4chstes Ziel ist El Chalt\u00e9n. Der erste Teil der Fahrt \u00fcber die Ruta 40 ist recht eint\u00f6nig, aber als wir dann auf die Ruta 23 abbiegen, kommen dann so langsam wieder die Anden und der Berg Fitz Roy in Sicht. Auf dem Parkplatz am Ortseingang und direkt gegen\u00fcber der Parkverwaltung finden wir einen Stellplatz. Wir laufen in den kleinen und touristischen Ort und g\u00f6nnen uns ein Eis. Abends quatschen wir noch mit Schweizern, die auf dem Platz stehen, und die Darmst\u00e4dter trudeln dann auch noch ein. Am n\u00e4chsten Tag machen wir uns dann auf unsere erste Tour. \u00dcber Stock und Stein geht es zu zwei sch\u00f6nen Aussichtspunkten. Die Strecke ist insgesamt ca. 4 km lang und wir m\u00fcssen 180 H\u00f6henmeter bew\u00e4ltigen. Nach ca. 3 Stunden sind wir wieder zur\u00fcck am Platz und lassen den Tag gem\u00fctlich ausklingen. F\u00fcr den n\u00e4chsten Tag haben wir uns etwas mehr vorgenommen. Das Ziel der Wanderung ist die Laguna Capri mit dem Fitz Roy im Hintergrund. Mit dem Auto fahren wir zum Parkplatz am anderen Ende des Ortes, wo der Wanderweg beginnt. Auf etwas \u00fcber 9 km m\u00fcssen wir diesmal 230 H\u00f6henmeter bew\u00e4ltigen. Von verschiedenen Aussichtspunkten haben wir einen tollen Blick in das Tal und auf den Berg, der sich heute mal ganz ohne Wolken zeigt. Gl\u00fccklich und geschafft sind wir nach 4 Std 40 Minuten zur\u00fcck am Auto. Wir halten nochmal schnell beim B\u00e4cker und am Supermarkt an, dann geht es zur\u00fcck zu unserem Stellplatz. Wir brauchen beide einen Ruhetag und so beschlie\u00dfen wir, noch einen Tag hier zu bleiben. Wir besch\u00e4ftigen uns haupts\u00e4chlich mit Bildbearbeitung, Tagebuch schreiben und Blog vorbereiten. Zwischendurch wird immer wieder mal mit anderen Reisenden gequatscht. Als wir am n\u00e4chsten Tag weiterfahren, sehen wir schon nach kurzer Zeit ein Auto, dass sich auf schnurgerader Stra\u00dfe \u00fcberschlagen hat. Feuerwehr und Polizei sind schon im Einsatz und wir kommen ohne Probleme an der Unfallstelle vorbei. Zur\u00fcck auf der Ruta 40 wird die Fahrerei wieder sehr eint\u00f6nig, bis sie nach ca. 155 km zur Schotterstrecke wird. Teilweise ist der Zustand recht schlecht und wir k\u00f6nnen gerade mal 20-30 km\/h fahren. Schon nach wenigen Kilometern sehen wir am Stra\u00dfenrand ein Auto mit eingedr\u00fcckter Beifahrerseite und geplatzter Windschutzscheibe. Da wir nicht sehen konnten, ob die Leute im Auto ok waren, drehen wir um und halten an. Die drei M\u00e4nner stehen sichtlich unter Schock. Zum Gl\u00fcck h\u00e4lt noch ein Argentinier and und spricht mit ihnen. Sie sind soweit unverletzt, aber bei dem Unfall ist der Autoschl\u00fcssel im Z\u00fcndschloss abgebrochen und jetzt ist die Wegfahrsperre aktiviert und das Auto kann auch nicht abgeschleppt werden. Hilfe ist aber wohl schon unterwegs und wir fahren beruhigt weiter nach Gobernador Gregores. Im zweiten Anlauf finden wir hier einen sch\u00f6nen und ruhigen Stellplatz am Fluss. Am Morgen schaut Ralph nochmal nach den Ventilen (die unendliche Geschichte) und dann fahren wir zur Tourist Information. Dort werden wir von zwei jungen Frauen sehr gut beraten und informiert. Anschlie\u00dfend halten wir noch kurz bei der Verwaltung des Nationalparks Perito Moreno und dann machen wir uns relativ sp\u00e4t auf den Weg. Die 130 km auf der asphaltierten Ruta 40 legen wir z\u00fcgig zur\u00fcck. Dann haben wir jedoch noch 90 km Schotterstra\u00dfe vor uns. Maps.me, dass wir meistens zum navigieren nehmen, spinnt hier v\u00f6llig. F\u00fcr die 90 km sollen wir ca. 7 Stunden brauchen. Der Stra\u00dfenzustand ist zwar teilweise \u00fcbel, aber wir schaffen es dann doch noch, uns vor Sonnenuntergang an der Ranger Station anzumelden und den Stellplatz f\u00fcr die Nacht in El Rincon anzufahren. Der Nationalpark ist sehr naturbelassen und immer wieder sind wir von den t\u00fcrkisfarbigen Seen beeindruckt. Photoshop braucht kein Mensch, wenn man die Farben der Natur hier sieht. Wir laufen zwei kurze Trails und stellen uns dann f\u00fcr die Nacht auf den Parkplatz vor der Halbinsel Belgrano. Auch hier laufen wir noch ein St\u00fcck, aber der selbst der kleine Rundweg dauert ca. 3-5 Stunden und das ist uns zu lang. Zum Abschluss fahren wir dann noch zum Lago Burmeister. Dort gibt es Stellpl\u00e4tze mit kleinen Schutzw\u00e4llen (gegen Wind?), die aber wohl eher f\u00fcr Zelte geeignet sind. W\u00e4hrend ich im Unimog backe, l\u00e4uft Ralph noch ein St\u00fcck am See entlang. Abends gibt es ganz leichten Regen. Nach einer sehr ruhigen Nacht melden wir uns am Morgen bei den Rangern ab und fahren zur\u00fcck zur Ruta 40. Es ist ziemlich st\u00fcrmisch. Als wir eine kurze Pause machen, muss Ralph mir beim Aussteigen helfen, da ich die T\u00fcr nicht halten kann. Das Fliegengitter an der Kabinent\u00fcr schl\u00e4gt nach au\u00dfen und ein Handtuch geht fliegen. Zum Gl\u00fcck bleibt es ein paar Meter weiter im Geb\u00fcsch h\u00e4ngen und Ralph kann es noch retten.<\/p>\n

Our next destination is El Chalt\u00e9n. The first leg of the journey via Ruta 40 is boring but when we turn onto Ruta 23 we see the Andes again and the Fitz Roy comes into view. As many other overlanders we park our car at the beginning of town, directly opposite of the park administration. We go for a short walk in the little touristy town and treat ourselves to an ice cream. In the evening we chat with some guys from Switzerland and the truck from Darmstadt arrives as well. In the morning we go for our first hike. It\u2019s a nice trail with two viewpoints. In total it is approx. 4 km with an elevation of 180 m. Approx. 3 hrs later we are back and enjoy the rest of the day. For the next day we have a bit of a challenge. Our destination is Laguna Capri with Fitz Roy in the background. We take the car to the parking at the other end of town, where the trail starts. On slightly more than 9 km we need to manage an elevation of 230 m. Again, there are multiple points with nice views into the valley and at Fitz Roy, which is without clouds today. Exhausted but happy we are back at the car after 4 hrs and 40 minutes. With a quick stop at a bakery we go back to the parking. We both feel that we need a rest and so we decide to stay another day. We spend this day mainly with managing our photos, writing our diary and preparing the next blog entry. In-between we have chats with other travelers. Shortly after we left the next morning, we see a car lying on its top on a road leading straight ahead. Rescue services and police are already there and we can pass without problems. Back on Ruta 40 the drive becomes boring again until it turns into gravel road after approx. 155 km. Partially it is in really bad condition and we can only drive 20-30 km\/h. After a few km we see a car parked beside the road that has a damaged driver\u2019s side and a totally broken windshield. Since we couldn\u2019t see if the passengers were ok, we turn around and stop. The men are obviously in shock. Luckily an Argentinian stops as well and talks to them. They have no injuries but during the accident the key broke off and part is still in the ignition and therefore the immobilizer (not sure if this is the correct term) is activated and the car can\u2019t be towed. Help is on the way and thus we can move on with a good conscience to Gobernador Gregores. At the second attempt we find a nice and quiet place for the night. In the morning Ralph checks the valves again (never ending story?) and we drive to the tourist information, where we get very good advice from two young women. Thereafter we stop at the administration of NP Perito Moreno and it is already late when we finally leave. We manage the 130 km on paved Ruta 40 pretty fast but then we are faced with 90 km of gravel. Maps.me, that we use for navigation, is totally weird. It tells us, that we\u2019ll do the 90 kms in 7 hrs (by car). The road is partially in really bad condition but we manage to register at the ranger station and reach the first site for the night at El Rincon before sun set. The NP is very rural and time and again we are fascinated by lakes in unbelievable colors. Nobody needs Photoshop, when you see the colors of nature at this place. In the morning we hike to short trails and then drive to the parking at peninsula Belgrano. Again, we go for a short hike but 3-5 hrs for the total round trip is too much for us and we just turn around after a while. Our last day brings us to Lago Burmeister. There are some campsites with shelter (against the wind?) but they are not suited for big rigs. Whilst I do some baking Ralph walks a bit along the sea shore. In the evening there is some light rain. After a quiet night we de-register with the rangers and go back to Ruta 40. It is pretty stormy. When we stop for a short break, I need Ralph\u2019s help since I can\u2019t open and hold the door. The mosquito net at our cabin door is blown outside and one of our towels is blown away. Luckily it gets stuck in the bushes a few meters away and Ralph can save it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
