Nein, das ist kein normaler Reiseblog und es geht auch nicht um Bier. Wir werden diesen Beitrag regelm\u00e4\u00dfig mit\u00a0unserer Situation in Anbetracht des Corona-Virus in S\u00fcdamerika aktualisieren.<\/p>\n

No, this is not the usual travel blog and it’s not about beer either. We\u2019ll update this post regularly with updates regarding\u00a0our situation under Corona virus in South America.

07.\u00a0September – 05. Oktober 2020 \/\u00a07th September to 5h\u00a0October\u00a02020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wir fahren mal wieder in die Stadt, weil wir Bargeld ben\u00f6tigen. Die Gelegenheit nutzen wir auch zum Einkaufen. Als Ralph den Reifendruck f\u00fcr die Fahrt nach Buenos Aires erh\u00f6hen will, stellt er fest, dass eine Luftdruckleitung undicht ist. Rodrigo kann helfen und das Ersatzteil besorgen. Dann gibt Erica uns einen Brief. Wir sind v\u00f6llig \u00fcberrascht und k\u00f6nnen uns erst nicht erkl\u00e4ren, wer der Absender ist. Nachdem wir ihn ge\u00f6ffnet und gelesen haben, sehen wir, dass Jos\u00e9 von den Zeugen Jehovas, der uns mal am Platz angesprochen hat, wohl Informationen \u00fcber uns weitergeleitet hat. Masha organisiert ein gemeinsames Abendessen mit russischem Kartoffelsalat und wir feiern auch noch Paolas Geburtstag. Von Iberia erfahren wir, dass unser Flug um einen Tag verschoben wurde. Dadurch haben wir aber auch einen anderen Anschlussflug in Madrid und nur noch rund 2 Stunden Zwischenstopp. Die Tage fliegen jetzt so dahin, bis wir den Platz nochmal verlassen und von montags bis freitags in die H\u00fctte von Mausi & Erich ziehen. Dort k\u00f6nnen wir in aller Ruhe den Unimog ausr\u00e4umen, alles sortieren (was bleibt hier, was nehmen wir mit nach Deutschland) und sauber machen. Die letzten 3 N\u00e4chte sind wir wieder am Platz. Leider gibt es jetzt auch wieder neue Corona F\u00e4lle in San Martin und die Kontaktbeschr\u00e4nkungen werden wieder versch\u00e4rft. Daher k\u00f6nnen wir zu unserem gro\u00dfen Abschiedsgrillen nicht alle einladen. Au\u00dfer den Platzbewohnern sind nur Erica & Max, Masha & Mathes und Mani & Mecchi dabei. Mit Silvia, Pablo, Mausi und Erich gehen wir am Sonntag im Golfclub essen; eine gute Empfehlung. Matias kommt nochmal kurz vorbei und verabschiedet sich auch. Ja, und dann ist es soweit und es hei\u00dft (endg\u00fcltig\/vorl\u00e4ufig) Abschied nehmen. Juli und Luna sind schon fr\u00fch auf und fr\u00fchst\u00fccken mit uns. Die anderen kommen dann auch kurz bevor wir aufbrechen. Wir hoffen, dass wir sie alle im n\u00e4chsten Jahr wiedersehen werden. Die erste Polizeikontrolle haben wir schon nach wenigen Kilometern am Ortsteingang zu Junin de los Andes. Es werden aber nur ein paar Daten kontrolliert und notiert und dann k\u00f6nnen wir weiter. Aber schon am Ortsausgang werden wir wieder an der Polizeistation gestoppt. Diesmal ist man der Meinung, dass wir eine Fahrgenehmigung von der Polizei brauchen. Nach einigen Telefonaten und ca. 30 Minuten Wartezeit, d\u00fcrfen wir dann aber auch hier weiter. 3 x \u00fcbernachten wir an gr\u00f6\u00dferen Tankstellen\/Rastpl\u00e4tzen. An einem steht schon ein LKW, der offensichtlich Probleme hat. Ralph hat passendes Werkzeug und will nat\u00fcrlich auch helfen. Dabei rutscht er dann einmal ab und landet auf seinem Allerwertesten; bl\u00f6d nur, dass da auch ein spitzer Stein lag. Ohne Probleme passieren wir noch ein paar Kontrollpunkte \u2013 in Zapala werden wir mit einem Polizeimotorrad durch den Ort begleitet, ehe wir am 01. Oktober wir dann unser Ziel, den Platz von Andean Roads motorhomes in Tigre erreichen. Hier wird Albatros voraussichtlich das n\u00e4chste Jahr verbringen. Wir treffen auch Claudia & Uwe, die seit M\u00e4rz hier festh\u00e4ngen. Mit den letzten Arbeiten vergehen die Tage auf dem Platz relativ schnell und dann werden wir um 9:00h abgeholt und zum Flughafen gebracht. Das Flugzeug von Buenos Aires nach Madrid ist fast komplett ausgebucht. Der Service ist durch Corona eingeschr\u00e4nkt und gerade noch akzeptabel. Von Madrid nach D\u00fcsseldorf gibt es jede Menge freie Pl\u00e4tze und keinen Service. In D\u00fcsseldorf folgen wir dann dem Herdentrieb und merken pl\u00f6tzlich, dass wir ohne unsere Koffer aus dem Zollbereich raus sind. Das passiert aber wohl auch anderen und so kommen wir schnell wieder rein. Daf\u00fcr m\u00fcssen wir dann nicht auf unsere Koffer warten. Sie kreisen ganz alleine auf dem Band ihre Runden. Auch unser Abholservice klappt gut und so nehmen wir nur schnell die Schl\u00fcssel f\u00fcr unser Auto im Empfang und begeben uns erstmal in Quarant\u00e4ne. 2 Tage sp\u00e4ter lassen wir dann einen Corona Test machen und wieder 2 Tage sp\u00e4ter bekommen wir die Info, dass wir negativ sind.<\/p>\n

We need to go into town to get money and use the opportunity for shopping as well. Ralph increased the pressure in the tires for the drive to Buenos Aires and notes, that one of the tubes is leaking. Luckily Rodrigo can help and get the spare part for us. To our surprise Erica has a letter for us. We wonder, from whom this could be until we open and read it. Jos\u00e9, a guy from Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses, who contacted us a couple of weeks ago, must have forwarded information about us. Masha organizes a shared diner with Russian potato salad and we celebrate Paola\u2019s birthday. Then we get a mail from IBERIA, that our flight was moved to one day later. Due to this change, we now have a different connection flight and only 2 hrs. waiting time in Madrid. The days just fly by until we leave the campground and move into the hut from Mausi & Erich from Monday to Friday. There we can easily clear Unimog, sort stuff (what remains and what do we take to Germany) and clean everything. The last 3 nights we\u2019re back at the campground. Unfortunately, there are new Corona cases in San Martin and the contact rules are tougher again. Therefore, we can\u2019t invite all the people to our last asado. Besides the normal residents, only Erica & Max, Masha & Mathes and Mani & Mexi join us. However, on Sunday we have a very nice lunch at the golf club with Silvia, Pablo, Mausi and Erich. Matias stops by to say goodbye as well. And then we (finally\/preliminary) need to say goodbye. Juli and Luna are up early and we have breakfast together. The other join us before we start the last part of our journey. We hope, that we\u2019ll meet them all again next year. We encounter the first police check point already after a few kilometers at Junin de los Andes. A few documents were checked and some data noted in a list and then we can move on. However, already at the exit we are stopped again. This time the officers believe, that we need a written permit from the police officials. After 30 minutes and a few phone calls we can move on. Three times we stop for the night at fuel stations \/ truck stops. At one of them there is a truck with obvious issues. Ralph has the tools and of course wants to help as well. When he loses balance at one point, he heavily sits down; unfortunately, there was a stone with a sharp edge. We pass a few more check points without any issues \u2013 in Zapala we\u2019re escorted through town by a police motorbike – before, we reach our destination Andean Roads motorhomes in Tigre on October 1st. This will be Albatros\u2019 home for the next year. We meet Claudia & Uwe, who are stuck here since March. Time flies by and we take care of the final tasks and then we\u2019re picked up at 9:00h to get to the airport. The plane from Buenos Aires to Madrid is nearly fully booked. Due to Corona the service is limited and just acceptable. On the 2nd<\/sup> leg of the journey from Madrid to Duesseldorf, there are lots of empty seats and no service. In Duesseldorf we just follow the crowd until we realize that we already left the customs area but without our luggage. Obviously, this happens to other people as well and we can get back in. Then we don\u2019t need to wait for our bags. They are the only ones left on the belt. Our pick-up service works fine as well and so we receive the keys to our car and drive home and go into quarantine. 2 days later we go to the doctor for a Corona test and another 2 days later we receive the information that we\u2019re Corona free. <\/em><\/p>\n

10. August – 06. September 2020 \/ 10th\u00a0August to 6th\u00a0September 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

So langsam aber sicher kommt ein bisschen Lagerkoller und Lethargie bei uns auf. Die Ausgangssperre wird immer wieder weiter verl\u00e4ngert. Aber, es gibt auch ein paar positive Nachrichten.\u00a0Mit Matias Hilfe haben wir Nachschub f\u00fcr Ralphs Medikamente bekommen. Dann sagt uns Matias einen Tag, dass wir f\u00fcr eine Woche in das Haus seines Bruders ziehen k\u00f6nnen. Der Bruder ist h\u00e4ngt in einer anderen Provinz fest. Wir nutzen die Gelegenheit und genie\u00dfen die Tatsache, dass wir viel Platz haben. Das Haus hat 3 Schlafzimmer, 2 B\u00e4der und 3 Toiletten und einen gro\u00dfen offenen Raum mit K\u00fcche, Ess- und Wohnzimmer. In der K\u00fcche gibt es eine gro\u00dfe offene Feuerstelle zum Grillen. Als Dankesch\u00f6n laden wir Matias und seine Eltern zu einem Asado ein und dazu kommen noch Mausi & Erich, ein anderes deutschst\u00e4mmiges Paar. Wir verbringen einen netten Abend, an dessen Ende uns Erich anbietet, in seine ‚H\u00fctte“, die er f\u00fcr den Fall, dass sie mal Pflege brauchen, gebaut hat, zu ziehen. Aber, nach ein paar Tagen Zweisamkeit fehlt uns auch die Gesellschaft vom Campingplatz und wir entscheiden uns, erstmal dorthin zur\u00fcckzugehen. Ende August treffen wir dann eine Entscheidung und buchen f\u00fcr Anfang Oktober Fl\u00fcge von Buenos Aires \u00fcber Madrid nach D\u00fcsseldorf. Jetzt bleibt uns nur abwarten und hoffen, dass der Flug auch tats\u00e4chlich geht. Anfang September bekomme ich eine Mail von Iberia und bef\u00fcrchte schon das Schlimmste, aber der Flug wird nur um einen Tag\u00a0 nach hinten verschoben. Ansonsten merkt man, dass es hier jetzt Fr\u00fchling wird. Wir sehen die ersten Knospen an den Str\u00e4uchern und immer wieder mal haben wir Tage mit Temperaturen \u00fcber 10 Grad und wir k\u00f6nnen sogar einen Tag nutzen und wieder mit der ganzen Gruppe drau\u00dfen ein Asado machen. F\u00fcr n\u00e4chste Woche sind durchg\u00e4ngig Temperaturen um die 12-16 Grad angesagt.<\/p>\n

Slowly but constantly we’re getting a bit lethargic. The lock down\u00a0has been extended again. However, there are some positive news as well. With Matias‘ help we stock up on Ralph’s medicine and one day Matias tells us, that we can move into his brother’s house for a week. His brother is stuck in a different province. We take the opportunity and savor the fact that we have lots of space. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 toilets and one big room with kitchen, eating and living area. The kitchen even has a large open fire place for asados. As a thank you we invite Matias and his parents for an asado and Mausi & Erich, another couple with German roots, join us as well. We spend a very nice evening and at the end Erich offers us to move into his hut, which he build for the case that they might need a nurse at some point in their lives. However, after a few days being on our own, we miss the company of the campground and therefore decide to go back there. In late August we finally make a decision and book flights for early October to return home from Buenos Aires via Madrid. Now we only can wait and hope, the flight will not be cancelled. In early September I receive a mail from Iberia and already expect the worst but the flight have only been\u00a0rescheduled for 1 day. Otherwise we feel that Spring is in the air. We see the first buds in the bushes and every now and then have days with a temperature above 10\u00b0 C and one day we even have an asado with the whole group again. The forecast for next week shows temperatures between 12 and 16\u00b0 C every day.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

03. – 09. August 2020 \/\u00a03rd\u00a0to 9th\u00a0August 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Woche f\u00e4ngt mit sch\u00f6nem Wetter an. Im Laufe der Woche zieht es aber immer mehr zu und wird auch wieder regnerisch und windig. Zwei Mal stehen wir um 7h auf, weil wir immer noch versuchen, den Arzttermin per Skype zu machen. Leider klappt es beide Male nicht. Beim 1. Mal wurde der Termin per Email abgesagt (SMS hatten wir vor dem Aufstehen gecheckt) und beim 2. Mal gehen wir nach 50 Minuten Wartezeit gerade vom (ungeheizten) Aufenthaltsraum zur\u00fcck in unser WoMo als der Anruf kommt. Unser R\u00fcckruf 2 Minuten sp\u00e4ter wird dann nicht mehr angenommen. Diese Woche starten wir mit dem Training f\u00fcr die Besteigung des Lanin. Na ja, ich will die nicht mitmachen, aber ein bisschen Sport kann ja nicht schaden. Montag und Mittwoch bin ich beim Training dabei und habe die ganze Woche ordentlich Muskelkater. Am Freitag lasse ich das Training ausfallen, weil gerade ein Bekannter von Matias da ist, der sich unser T\u00fcrschloss ansieht und ich muss ein bisschen beim \u00dcbersetzen helfen. Es gibt n\u00e4mlich mal wieder ein neues Problem: Die T\u00fcr l\u00e4\u00dft sich nicht mehr \u00fcber den Schalter \u00f6ffnen. Wir m\u00fcssen den Strom abschalten und wenn wir ihn dann wieder einschalten, geht die T\u00fcr automatisch auf. Nach einigem Messen finden Ralph und er dann auch einen Schalter, der feucht ist und das Problem verursacht. Sergio holt noch ein Reinigungs-\/Kontaktspray und jetzt geht der Schalter wieder.<\/p>\n

The week commences with nice weather but during the week it gets more and more cloudy, rainy and windy. Twice we get up at 7 am since we still try to have the doctor appointment via Skype. Unfortunately it doesn’t work out both times. The first appointment is cancelled by the doctor via email (this time we\u00a0 checked the SMS before getting up) and the 2nd time we’re just relocating from the (unheated) common room back to our RV after waiting for 50 minutes, when the doctor calls. Our return call 2 minutes later isn’t answered. The group starts with training for the Lanin hike. Ok, I don’t want to do this hike, but to do a bit of sport is never wrong. On Monday and Wednesday I participate and suffer from sore muscles the whole week. On Friday I skip the training since a friend of Matias is here to check our door lock. There is a new problem: The switch doesn’t open the door anymore. We have to disconnect the electricity and when we connect again, the door opens automatically. After some checks Ralph and the mechanic find a switch that is humid. Sergio organizes some spray for cleaning and now it works properly again.<\/i><\/p>\n

27. Juli – 02. August 2020 \/ 27th July to 2nd\u00a0August 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wieder werden wir am Montag um 7:00 h durch den Wecker geweckt. Ein Arzttermin per Skype steht an. Als wir gegen 8:45 h mit dem Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck fertig sind, sieht Ralph, dass er um 4:45 h eine SMS erhalten hat und der Termin abgesagt wurde. Das Wetter ist bis auf zwei Tage diese Woche relativ sch\u00f6n. Wir erledigen den w\u00f6chentlichen Einkauf und laufen zur Firma von Matias um uns Holzleisten zu holen. Estefi und Martin fahren f\u00fcr 2 Tage zu Freunden nach Junin de los Andes, verpassen aber am Sonntag den Bus und somit auch die „Noche de Pizza“ in der Quincho. Ich probiere ein neues Rezept aus. Brownies mit wei\u00dfer Schokolade und Kichererbsen statt Mehl. Sie schmecken \u00fcberraschend gut. Einen Tag ist Ericas \u00e4ltere Schwester Barbara am Platz. Sie spricht noch relativ gut Deutsch und wir unterhalten uns eine ganze Weile. Am Freitag erfahren wir dann, dass „la cuarentena“ zu unver\u00e4nderten Bedingungen bis zum 16.08.2020 weitergef\u00fchrt wird. Sonntag ist es so sch\u00f6n, dass wir drau\u00dfen sitzen k\u00f6nnen. Wir nutzen die Gelegenheit zum Haare schneiden.<\/p>\n

Once again the alarm clock raises us at 7 am on Monday. This time we have a doctor appointment via Skype. However, around 8:45 am, when we’re done with our breakfast, Ralph realises that the received a SMS at 4:45 am to cancel the appointment. Except for two days, the weather is relatively nice this week. We go for our weekly shopping and visit Matias at his workshop to buy some wooden panels. Estefi und Martin leave for 2 days to visit friends in Junin de los Andes. They miss the bus on Sunday and therefore miss the „Noche de Pizza“ as well. I try a new recipe; Brownies with white chocolate and chicken peas instead of flour. They are quite yummy. One day Erica’s older sister Barbara is at the campground. She speaks relatively good German and we talk for a while. On Friday we hear, that „la cuarentena“ (lockdown) is extended without any changes until Aug 16, 2020. On Sunday the weather is so nice, that we can sit outside. We take the opportunity to cut our hairs.<\/i><\/p>\n

21. – 26. Juli\u00a02020 \/ 21st to 26th\u00a0July\u00a02020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Am Montag stehen wir um 7:00h auf und fahren in die Stadt um Geld zu holen. Doch die Post hat nicht genug Bargeld, um uns den Gegenwert von \u20ac 345,00 auszuzahlen. Wir m\u00fcssen fast eine Stunde warten, bis der Geldtransporter da war. W\u00e4hrend der Wartezeit kaufen wir f\u00fcr Ralph ein paar Gummistiefel. Bei einem Preis von \u20ac 33 schlucken wir zwar, aber daf\u00fcr sind es auch echte Crocs. Beim Preis von fast \u20ac 55 f\u00fcr ein Paar f\u00fcr mich, streiken wir aber. Nachdem wir dann endlich Geld bekommen haben, geht es erst in den Supermarkt und anschlie\u00dfend zum Fischladen. Leider hat der heute keine gro\u00dfe Auswahl und wir ziehen unverrichteter Dinge wieder ab. Daf\u00fcr werde wir dann an einem anderen Schuhladen f\u00fcr mich f\u00fcndig. Bei einem Paar Gummistiefel mit Weitschaft f\u00fcr \u20ac 6,60 macht es auch nichts aus, wenn sie etwas zu gro\u00df sind. Die Franzosen verlassen uns zwar erst am Ende der Woche, aber am Montag gibt es zum Abschied schon mal eine Pizza Nacht. Der Rest der Woche vergeht wieder mit Schnee und Regen. Allerdings macht dann die Kabinent\u00fcr mal wieder Probleme. Sie l\u00e4sst sich nicht mehr \u00fcber den normalen Schalter \u00f6ffnen. Daf\u00fcr m\u00fcssen wir sie vom Strom nehmen und wenn wir die Sicherung wieder rein machen, geht die T\u00fcr automatisch auf. Ralph kann auf Anhieb nichts finden, aber bei dem Wetter, macht es auch keinen Spa\u00df, an der T\u00fcr zu arbeiten. Und dann kommt Matias noch vorbei und bringt uns einen Monitor. Ich mache vorsichtshalber eine Kopie der wichtigsten Dateien auf mein externes USB-Laufwerk.<\/p>\n

On Monday we get up at 7h am since we want to drive into town to get cash but the\u00a0post office doesn’t have enough to pay the equivalent of \u20ac 345.00. We nearly need to wait for an hour until they get a new delivery. Meanwhile we buy some rubber boots for Ralph. The price of \u20ac 33 is a bit steep but they are real Crocs. However, at a price of nearly \u20ac 55 we resist buying a pair for me as well. Once we have new cash we stop at the supermarket and then at the fish shop. Unfortunately they don’t have a lot of choices today and we leave without fish. However, we buy some rubber boots for me at another shoe shop. They are only \u20ac 6.60 and therefore it’s not a problem that they are a bit big. Although the French only leave on Sunday, we already have a pizza night as farewell diner on Monday. The remainder of the week passes with snow and rain. We have one new problem with our cabin door. It doesn’t open via the normal switch anymore. We now have to disrupt the power. When we connect the power again, the door opens automatically. Ralph can’t find anything but given the bad weather it’s not fun to check the door anyhow. Last but not least Matias stops by and brings a monitor for my laptop. To be on the safe side I copy the most important files tomy external USB drive.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

13. – 20. Juli\u00a02020 \/ 13th\u00a0to 20th\u00a0July\u00a02020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Woche f\u00e4ngt gut an. Am Montag scheint die Sonne und wir machen uns mittags mit fast der ganzen Truppe vom Platz auf eine Wanderung zur Laguna Rosales. Zuerst fahren wir ein paar Kilometer mit zwei Autos (Max nimmt einige auf der Ladefl\u00e4che des PickUps mit) bis zum\u00a0Centro Interculturales. Ab da geht es dann zu Fu\u00df weiter. Das erste St\u00fcck des Weges ist recht matschig, da wir in ausgefahrenen Autospuren laufen. Dann aber haben wir nur noch Schnee vor uns. Es ist zwar ein Weg angelegt, aber der ist auf ganzen Strecken nur ca. 20-40 cm breit und rechts und links ist dann kniehoch Schnee. Das hei\u00dft, es ist so gut wie kein Platz, um einen Ausgleichschritt zu machen, wenn man mal ins Rutschen kommt. Da ich im Moment keine guten Wanderschuhe habe, passiert mir das h\u00e4ufiger und, trotz Wanderst\u00f6cken, setze ich mich insgesamt 7 x in den Schnee. An einigen Stellen ist der Weg auch ganz sch\u00f6n steil und rutschig. Laut der Runtastic App, machen wir bis zur Laguna auf 3.5 km gut 1000 H\u00f6henmeter. Nach einer kurzen Rast machen Ralph und ich uns etwas fr\u00fcher auf den R\u00fcckweg, da ich doch sehr langsam unterwegs bin und wir die Truppe nicht aufhalten wollen. Kurz vor dem Ziel holen sie uns dann wieder ein. An dem steilsten St\u00fcck, setze ich mich nat\u00fcrlich mal wieder in den Schnee. Ich beschlie\u00dfe dann, erst unten wieder aufzustehen und rutsche, zur Belustigung der Truppe auf dem Hintern den Berg runter. Es war eine sch\u00f6ne Tour, aber wir merken, dass wir doch schon etwas \u00e4lter sind und sp\u00fcren unsere Knochen noch zwei Tage. Ab Dienstag ist das Wetter dann wieder schlechter und dann haben wir wieder ein paar Tage Dauerregen und der Platz wird zur Seenplatte. Daher verbringen wir den Rest der Woche am Platz und im Auto.<\/p>\n

The week has a good start. Monday is sunny and nearly all of us go for a hike to Laguna Rosales. With two cars (Max takes a few people with the pickup) we first drive to the Intercultural Center. From there we walk. The 1st part is pretty muddy, since we follow a dirt track\u00a0made by cars but then it is only snow. There is a prepared track but it often is only 20-40 cm wide with knee deep\u00a0snow on both sides. Therefore, there isn’t much space to regain control once you start slipping. Since I currently don’t have good hiking boots this happens multiple\u00a0times and, although I have walking sticks, I sit down in the snow 7 times. Some part are pretty steep and slippery. According to my Runtastic App we manage an elevation of more than 1000 meters on the 3.5 km\u00a0to the lake. After a short brake Ralph and I start the return a bit earlier since I’m pretty slow and we don’t want to keep the whole group waiting. Shortly before we reach the cars, we meet again. Of course I fall into the snow when we reach the steepest part. However, instead of getting up I decide, much to the amusement of the group, to slide down on my back. It was a nice hike, but we realize, that we’re not as young anymore and feel the impact for the next two days. On Tuesday the weather gets worse again and finally we have a couple of days of permanent\u00a0rain converting the site into a lake district again. Therefore\u00a0we spent the remainder of the week at the campground and in the car.<\/i><\/p>\n

06. – 12. Juli\u00a02020 \/ 06th\u00a0to 12th\u00a0July\u00a02020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wir fahren in die Stadt zum einkaufen und besorgen neues K\u00fchlmittel. An der ersten Tankstelle kaufen wir 6 Liter, die Ralph auch ein St\u00fcck weiter direkt einf\u00fcllt. Da es nicht genug ist, kaufen wir nochmal 2 Liter, aber auch die reichen noch nicht. Da die 3. Tankstelle aber noch teurer ist, belassen wir es erstmal. Am Platz sagt Ralph mir dann, ich solle mich nicht zu sehr \u00e4rgern, da wohl irgendwo Wasser ausgelaufen sei und die Kabine nass ist. Ich stelle dann fest, dass es nicht Wasser, sondern K\u00fchlmittel ist. Nach eingehender Untersuchung stellt Ralph dann fest, dass er den \u00fcberfl\u00fcssigen Strang angeschnitten, aber nicht verschlossen hat. Wir haben die n\u00e4chsten Tage noch Spa\u00df damit. Da wir etwas schr\u00e4g stehen, l\u00e4uft das Zeug langsam aber sicher in einer Ecke zusammen, und wir k\u00f6nnen es mit Kleenex aufnehmen. Aber, es gibt auch wieder was zu feiern. Am Montag sind wir bei Pablo und Silvia zum\u00a0Asado eingeladen. Matias und Familie holen uns ab und wir verbringen einen sehr netten Abend. Am Mittwoch\u00a0hat Constance Geburtstag und am Samstag haben\u00a0wir unseren 34. Hochzeitstag. Den Geburtstag feiern wir mit Empanadas und den Hochzeitstag mit Kuchen und Gl\u00fchwein, auch ein neues Erlebnis f\u00fcr uns. Auch schafft Ralph es, den Motor des Schlosses so einzubauen, dass die T\u00fcr jetzt wieder normal schlie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

We drive into town for some shopping and buy new coolant. At the first gas station we get 6 litres, which Ralph already puts into the heating system at the next stop. Since this is not enough, we buy 2 more litres but this still isn\u2019t enough. Since the next gas station is asking even more for the coolant, we leave it for now. When back at the campground Ralph tells me to not get angry since some water spilled into the cabin. I then realised that it\u2019s not water but the coolant. After a thorough check, Ralph identifies the leak. He cut off the redundant tube, but didn\u2019t seal the end. We have to deal with this for the next couple of days. Since we\u2019re not fully levelled the stuff slowly gathers at one corner and we can remove it with Kleenex. However, there were some positive things this week as well. On Monday we were invited for an asado by Pablo and Silvia. Matias and family pick us up and we spent a very nice evening together. On Wednesday is Constance\u2019s birthday and on Saturday we celebrate our 34. wedding \u00a0anniversary. We have Empanadas for the birthday and cake and \u201cGl\u00fchwein\u201d for the anniversary. Last but not least, Ralph manages to fix the motor of the lock properly and now the door closes and opens normally again.<\/i><\/p>\n

29. Juni – 05. Juli\u00a02020 \/ 29th June\u00a0to 05th July\u00a02020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ich bin sp\u00e4t dran mit meinem Update. Wir hatten mal wieder Probleme mit unserer T\u00fcr. Der Motor, der das untere Schloss bet\u00e4tigt ist ausgebrochen. Ralph baut ihn wieder ein, aber jetzt k\u00f6nnen wir die T\u00fcr, wenn sie geschlossen ist, nur von innen per Hand entriegeln. D. h., wir m\u00fcssen durch das F\u00fchrerhaus und den Einstieg in die Kabine. Keine ideale L\u00f6sung, aber f\u00fcr den Moment geht es. Ende der Woche passiert dann, was passieren musste. Wir sind nachmittags in der Quincho. Ich stelle\u00a0die Laptops vom Tisch runter auf die B\u00e4nke, vergesse aber Ralph das zu sagen. Auch lasse ich meinen Laptop offen, da ich gerade einen Film runterlade. Als er dann durch die Luke einsteigt, muss er den Tisch verschieben und die vordere Ecke trifft auf mein Display. Das Ergebnis ist ziemlich heftig. Ralph nimmt sich auch die Heizung nochmal vor und stellt fest, dass er sowohl \u00fcberfl\u00fcssige Leitungen gelegt als auch falsche Verbindungen gemacht hat. Also, K\u00fchlmittel\u00a0raus und alles neu gemacht.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m late\u00a0with the update. We had problems with the cabin door. The motor\u00a0for the lower lock broke loose. Ralph can fix it again, but now we can only open the door manually from the inside. This means, we have to crawl through the connection from the driver cabin. Not the best solution but ok for now. Towards the end of the week, shit happens. We\u2019re both in the Quincho and I remove our laptops from the table and put them on the sitting area. Unfortunately I forgot to tell Ralph. Since I\u2019m downloading a film, I leave my laptop open. When Ralph gets in through the connection he has to move the table and the corner hits my display. The result is pretty bad. Ralph checks our heating system again and realises that we have some redundant tubes and some wrong connections. \u00a0Therefore we remove the coolant and redo everything.<\/i><\/p>\n

22. – 28. Juni 2020 \/\u00a022nd to 28th\u00a0June 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Wir brauchen wieder Geld und m\u00fcssen in die Stadt. Da wir jedoch nur zwischen 8:00h und 10:00h bei der Post rein d\u00fcrfen, die Busse sehr unregelm\u00e4\u00dfig fahren, das Wetter sehr regnerisch ist und wir auch noch einkaufen wollen, machen wir Albatros fertig Mal im Schnee. Nachmittags gibt es Muffins, Brownies und Apfelstreusel. Am Sonntag kochen wir Gulasch und dazu gibt es endlich das selbstgemachte Sauerkraut von Pablo und Silvia. Auch hierf\u00fcr vielen Dank. Es war sehr lecker.<\/p>\n

We need to get cash again and therefore have to go into town. Since we are only allowed to go to the post office between 8am and 10am, buses don’t drive regularly, it’s pretty rainy and we want to do some shopping as well, we get Albatros ready and drive into town. Everything is ok and we get money and food. On the way back to the camping we stop at Matias workshop and get some stuff to insulate our roof window and the one at the cabin door. Thanks a lot for this! On Thursday we celebrate Julian’s birthday with pizza followed by some cake. On Friday it started snowing and therefore I’m greeted by a white layer of snow\u00a0on Saturday morning. It’s my birthday and the 1st time I celebrate\u00a0with snow. In the afternoon we have muffins, brownies and apple crumble. On Sunday we cook a stew and finally the Sauerkraut from Pablo and Silvia. Many thanks for this as well. It was very tasty.<\/i><\/p>\n

15. – 21. Juni 2020 \/ 15th to 21st\u00a0June 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Am Dienstag, wir sitzen noch beim Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck, klopft es bei uns an der T\u00fcr. Drau\u00dfen steht Matias, ein Argentinier mit deutschen Wurzeln. Er hat unser Auto hier stehen sehen und schon \u00f6fter vorgehabt, uns anzusprechen. Der Versuch, eine Mail an uns zu schicken, hat nicht geklappt und heute hatte er Zeit. Wir trinken zusammen einen Kaffee und er bietet uns seine Hilfe an, wenn wir was brauchen. Nachdem wir Telefon-Nrn. ausgetauscht haben, muss er weiter zur Arbeit. Nachmittags bekommt Ralph dann eine WhatsApp von Matias Vater. Er w\u00fcrde uns gerne mit seiner Frau besuchen und ob wir Sauerkraut m\u00f6gen. Er hat gerade welches selber gemacht. Zwei Tage sp\u00e4ter steht er dann tats\u00e4chlich auf dem Platz, gibt aber nur ein Glas Sauerkraut und ein Glas Marmelade ab, da er noch weiter muss. Am Sonntagnachmittag treffen wir uns alle in der Quincho und „feiern“ den argentinischen Vatertag mit Snacks. Das Wetter war die ganze Woche regnerisch mit Tendenz zum Schneeregen. Ach ja, seit Montag springt die Heizung nicht mehr an und am Montagnachmittag ist das untere Schlo\u00df unserer Kabinent\u00fcr rausgebrochen. Das Schloss konnte Ralph reparieren, die Heizung (noch) nicht.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, we are still having breakfast, there is a knock at our door. Outside is Matias, an Argentinian with German Roots. He saw our truck and wanted to talk to us for already a while. He tried to send a mail but had a wrong email address. Today he had a bit of spare time and stopped. We drink a coffee together and he offers to help if we need anything. After exchanging phone numbers he has to get back to work. In the afternoon Ralph receives a WhatsApp from Matias‘ father. He’d like to visit us with his wife and asks if we like „Sauerkraut“. He’s just made some. Two days later he stops but only hands over a jar of „Sauerkraut“ and a glas of marmelade, since he needs to go into town. On Sunday afternoon we all meet in the Quincho and celebrate Argentinian Father’s Day with some snacks. The weather is more or less rainy all week with tendencies to snowing. Since Monday we don’t manage to start our heating system and in the afternoon the lower lock from our door broke loose. Ralph managed to fix the lock but not (yet) the heating.<\/i><\/p>\n

08. – 14. Juni 2020 \/\u00a08th to 14th\u00a0June 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Auch diese Woche vergeht wie die meisten vorher. Als kleine \u00dcberraschung liegt am Freitagmorgen eine d\u00fcnne Schicht Schnee auf dem Platz. Gegen Mittag ist aber schon wieder alles geschmolzen. Am Abend treffen wir uns alle in der Quincho um Estefis 27. Geburtstag zu feiern. Samstag und Sonntag ist das Wetter relativ sch\u00f6n und alle nutzen das nochmal zum W\u00e4sche waschen aus. Ralph und ich machen uns nachmittags zu einem kleinen Spaziergang auf. Da wird uns dann auch klar, was auf den Fahnen stand, die mittags ein Mann in den B\u00e4umen aufgehangen hat. Die Stra\u00dfe, an der der Campingplatz liegt, ist als Spielstra\u00dfe gesperrt. Familien sind mit ihren Kinder mit Fahrr\u00e4dern, Rollschuhen, Dreir\u00e4dern und Rollern unterwegs. Uns zieht es auf den gegen\u00fcberliegenden Berg. Wir laufen zwar nur ca. 2,5 km, haben dabei aber einen H\u00f6henunterschied von 210 Metern zu bew\u00e4ltigen. Da merken wir das wochenlange Rumsitzen schon. Leider wird es nichts mit dem erhofften Blick ins Nachbartal. Am Abend erfahren wir dann noch, dass die Regierung der Lockdown vorzeitig um weitere 2 Wochen verl\u00e4ngert hat. Wir h\u00e4ngen jetzt also wohl bis mindestens 12. Juli 2020 hier fest.<\/p>\n

Another week without much change. As a small surprise the campground is covered with a thin layer of snow on Friday morning. However, around lunch time it’s all gone again. In the evening we meet in the Quincho to celebrate Estefi’s 27. birthday. Saturday and Sunday the weather is nice and most of us do some washing again. Ralph and me go for a walk in the afternoon. We then realise, what the banners meant, that were put into the trees at lunch time. The street is blocked for cars and open to play. A lot of families are out with the kids driving bikes, rollerskates, trikes and scooters. Our destination is the mountain on the other side of the road. The hike is only approx. 2.5 km but with an elevation of 210 meters. We feel that we haven’t been moving a lot in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately there is no chance to have a look into the next valley. In the evening we hear that the government has already extended the lockdown for two more weeks. That means, we’ll most likely be stuck here until at least July 12, 2020.<\/i><\/p>\n

01. – 07. Juni 2020 \/ 1st to 7th\u00a0June 2020\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Quarant\u00e4ne wurde diesmal um 3 Wochen, also bis 28.06.2020 beschlossen. Allerdings gilt sie jetzt nur noch in einigen Provinzen in vollem Umfang (z. B. Buenos Aires Stadt und Provinz, die insgesamt fast 90% aller Coronaf\u00e4lle in Argentinien haben). In den anderen Provinzen kann jetzt, basierend auf den jeweiligen F\u00e4llen, lokal entschieden werden, wie weit es Lockerungen gibt. Viel nutzt uns das jedoch nicht, denn touristische Fahrten sind immer noch nicht erlaubt. Ansonsten haben uns diese Woche erst David und Marie und dann Thais und Diego verlassen. David und Marie haben den Papierkram zum Verkauf ihres Autos erledigen k\u00f6nnen und noch kurzfristig einen Platz in einem R\u00fcckholflug bekommen. Thais und Diego haben die Genehmigung bekommen, etwas weiter Richtung Norden nach Junin de los Andes zu fahren. Dort teilen sie sich jetzt eine Wohnung mit Freunden. Am Donnerstag wurde im Aufenthaltsraum ein kleiner Ofen, der mit Holz befeuert wird, in Betrieb genommen. Der Ofen hat oben ein Fach, zum Warmhalten oder Backen. Gestern haben wir ihn dann alle zusammen mit einem Pizzaessen eingeweiht. Heute Morgen gab es auf den Bergen wieder Schnee. Wir hoffen nur, dass wir hier unten davon verschont bleiben.<\/p>\n

The lockdown was extended by 3 weeks this time and is now until 28th June. However, the full lockdown is only applicable to a few provinces (e.g. Bueonos Aires city and province, which counts for nearly 90% of all corona cases in Argentina). All other provinces can now decide on their own releases based on the number of cases. This isn’t of much use for us, since touristic travel is still prohibited. During the week Davide and Marie and Thais and Diego left the camp. David and Marie completed all paperwork for the sale of their camper and luckily catched seats on a repatriation flight. Thais and Diego got permission to move a bit north to Junin de los Andes, where they now share an apartment with friends. On Thursday a small oven, fired with wood, was installed in the common area. It has a compartment to keep stuff warm or to bake. Yesterday we all had a pizza diner together. This morning there was snow in the mountains again. We only hope, that it won’t get down to our level.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

25. -31. Mai 2020 \/ 25th to 31tst\u00a0May 2020\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Unser Highlight war unser Ausflug in die\u00a0Stadt, um Geld zu holen. Am Dienstag machen wir uns gegen 11h auf den Weg zur Bushaltestelle. Relativ z\u00fcgig kommt auch ein Bus, der in der Stadt direkt vor der Post h\u00e4lt. Zu unserer Freude gibt es auch keine Warteschlange. Aber, als wir reingehen wollen, werden wir von Mitarbeitern des Roten Kreuzes (?) gefragt, wie alt wir sind. Nachdem wir das wahrheitsgem\u00e4\u00df beantwortet haben, wird uns mitgeteilt, dass wir zur Risikogruppe geh\u00f6ren und daher nur morgens zwischen 8 und 10h rein d\u00fcrfen. Auch unser Hinweis, dass wir extra von au\u00dferhalb mit dem Bus gekommen sind, hat nichts gen\u00fctzt. Sie schicken uns zur\u00fcck. Als n\u00e4chstes wollten wir dann unsere Karte f\u00fcr den Bus aufladen (hier gibt es keine Barzahlung beim Fahrer mehr), da wir nicht mehr genug Geld drauf hatten, um am n\u00e4chsten Tag nochmal zu fahren. Die Dame am Kiosk versucht es, sagt uns dann aber, dass sie keine Verbindung zum Server des Unternehmens bekommt. Also laufen wir zur Bushaltestelle. Der Bus kommt, f\u00e4hrt aber vorbei, da er schon voll ist. Dann kommen noch zwei Busse, die aber, laut einer Dame, die auch wartet, nicht in unsere Richtung fahren. Nach einer Weile entschlie\u00dfen wir uns, ca. 2 km weiter zu laufen. Ab dort k\u00f6nnen die Busse nur noch in unsere Richtung fahren. Zum Gl\u00fcck kommt dann auch nach 5 oder 10 Minuten ein Bus. Ich habe aber Probleme mit dem Bezahlen. Nach kurzem Kauderwelsch mit dem Fahrer, l\u00e4sst er uns so mitfahren. Nach ca. 2,5 Stunden sind wir wieder zur\u00fcck am Platz. Am Mittwoch stehen wir fr\u00fch auf und diesmal klappt alles. Mit uns wartet ein Argentinier vor der Post. Er spricht gut Englisch und wir kommen ins Gespr\u00e4ch. Er bietet uns dann sogar an, uns zur\u00fcck zu fahren, da er auch in diese Richtung muss. Wir nehmen das Angebot gerne an, lassen uns aber schon beim Supermarkt raussetzen, da wir unsere Vorr\u00e4te wieder auff\u00fcllen wollen. Das Wetter war diese Woche stabil, aber die Temperaturen gehen eindeutig nach unten – der Winter ist im Anmarsch. Erica\u00a0und Max haben uns informiert, dass die Gemeinde San Martin nicht mehr f\u00fcr die Camper aufkommt. Ich hatte es zwar schon mal vermutet, aber offiziell wussten wir nicht, dass die Gemeinde f\u00fcr uns bezahlt. Wir haben jetzt vereinbart, dass wir soviel zahlen, dass die Kosten f\u00fcr Strom, Wasser und Gas gedeckt werden.<\/p>\n

Our highlight of the week was our trip into town to withdraw cash. On Tuesday we leave around 11 am and go to the bus station. A bus arrives shortly after we’re there and it stops directly besides the post office in town. We’re happy that there is no queue but when we want to go inside, we’re stopped by people from the Red Cross (?). They ask us how old we are and after giving them our ages, they tell us, that we are part of the risk group and are only allowed to go inside between 8 and 10 am. Even after we told them we came from outside by bus, they refused to let us in. Next thing we need to recharge our card for the bus (they don’t accept cash payments) since we don’t have enough left to go into town tomorrow again. The lady at the kiosk tries but then tells us that she can’t access the server of the bus company. So we walk to the next bus station. The bus arrives but doesn’t stop since it is already fully occupied. Two more buses arrive, but, according to a lady who is waiting there as well, they don’t go in our direction. After a while we decide to walk another approx. 2 km. From there the buses can only go in our direction. About 5-10 minutes after we arrive at the bus station, the bus arrives and then I have problems with the payment. After a short chat, the driver lets us continue without payment. 2,5 hrs later we are back at the campground. On Wednesday we get up early and this time everythings is fine. An Argentinian is waiting with us outside of the post office. He speaks good English and we talk. He even offers, to drive us back since he needs to go in this direction anyhow. We happily accept the offer, but already get out at the supermarket so we can fill up our stock. The weather was stable this week, but temperatures are going down – winter is approaching. Erica and Max inform us, that the municipality of San Martin de los Andes no longer will take care of the campers. We didn’t know, but I already suspected, that they were paying for the campers. We now agreed, that we’ll pay the amount required to cover for expenses like energy, water and gas.<\/i><\/p>\n

<\/i>18. -24. Mai 2020 \/ 18th to 24th\u00a0May 2020\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Da im Moment nicht viel passiert, werde ich den Blog nur noch wochenweise aktualisieren. Im Laufe der Woche waren wieder welche von der Gemeinde hier. Sie haben nochmal einen aktuellen Stand der Leute hier auf dem Platz und ihrer individuellen Situation aufgenommen. Sie sagen, sie wollen versuchen, f\u00fcr uns eine Genehmigung zu bekommen, wir nach Uruguay ausreisen d\u00fcrfen (unser Flug am 16.07. wurde noch nicht storniert – das kann aber noch kommen). Wir haben nicht viel Hoffnung, dass das klappt. Alternativ will Erica, die Platzbetreiberin, mit dem Zoll sprechen, welche M\u00f6glichkeiten wir haben, die vor\u00fcbergehende Einfuhrgenehmigung f\u00fcr Albatros zu verl\u00e4ngern. Ansonsten ist das Wetter wechselhaft – nach ein paar Tagen Regen, scheint wieder die Sonne – aber die Tendenz der Temperaturen geht eindeutig nach unten. Die Stimmung auf dem Platz ist noch ganz gut. Mexi und Mani\u00a0haben uns verlassen, da sie im Ort einen Platz haben, wo sie wohl auch arbeiten k\u00f6nnen. Mathes und Maria haben im Ort ein Apartment gemietet, kommen aber tags\u00fcber zum Platz (ihr Caravan steht immer noch hier). Es sieht so aus, als k\u00f6nnten David und Marie ihr Auto verkaufen. Dann werden sie auch nach Buenos Aires fahren und versuchen, einen Flug zu bekommen. Im Moment steigen die Infektionszahlen auch hier deutlich an. 87% der Erkrankungen sind aber im Gro\u00dfraum Buenos Aires und da wiederum der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Teil in den Armenvierteln. Es gibt aber auch Provinzen, in denen es seit Wochen keine F\u00e4lle mehr gibt. Die landesweite Ausgangssperre wurde um weitere 14 Tage, jetzt also bis 07.06.2020, verl\u00e4ngert. F\u00fcr den Gro\u00dfraum Buenos Aires wurden die Einschr\u00e4nkungen nochmal versch\u00e4rft.<\/p>\n

Since there isn’t much change in the situation, I’ll only update the blog on a weekly basis. During the week we had a visit from guys from the municipality. They once again took stock of all the people here at the campground and their individual situation. They said, they’d try to get a special permit for us to cross the border into Uruguay (our flight on 16th July has not yet been cancelled – but this might still happen). We don’t have much hope that they’ll succeed. Alternatively Erica, our host, will talk to customs and see what option we have regarding thetemporary import permit for Albatros. The weather is unstable- after a few days of rain the sun is shining again – but in general temperatures are going down. The mood is still relatively good. Mexi and Mani moved into town where they now have a place where they can work. Mathes and Maria rented an apartment in town but come visit us during the day (their caravan is still here). It seems that David and Marie can sell their van. Once the paperwork is finalized they will then go to Buenos Aires and try to get a flight home. Currently the number of infected people is increasing. However, 87% of infections are in the wider Buenos Aires area and there mainly in the slums. There are a couple of provinces that haven’t had cases in a few weeks. The countrywide lockdown has been extended for another 14 days, now lasting until 7th June2020. For the wider Buenos Aires area the restrictions have been increased.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Irgendwie h\u00e4ngen wir heute beide in den Seilen. Es ist mal wieder Asado Zeit. Das Wetter spielt mit. Bis zu 17 Grad. Die Meisten hier am Platz haben die Gelegenheit genutzt, und nochmal gewaschen.<\/p>\n

Eine Schlechtwetterfront ist im Anmarsch. Es regnet und wird sehr windig. Da der Wind sehr stark ist, k\u00f6nnen wir beide nicht schlafen. Mitten in der Nacht stehen wir auf und schauen uns Filme an.<\/p>\n

Another rainy day but with a nice rainbow. There are pools in some areas but luckily not where the cars are parked. Again the power is off; no surprise, when looking at the installation.<\/i><\/p>\n

Ralph ist immer noch mit seinem Uruguayvortrag besch\u00e4ftigt. Zwischendurch spielen wir eine halbe Stunde Tischtennis. Es regnet wieder und als der Regen st\u00e4rker wird, f\u00e4llt auch der Strom wieder aus.<\/p>\n

Ralph is still busy with his photo show from our trip through Uruguay. In the afternoon we play ping pong for aporox. 30 minutes. The rain is back and when it gets stronger, the power at the campground is off again.<\/i><\/p>\n

Sie hatten sich in der Zwischenzeit eine H\u00fctte gemietet. Die\u00a0wurde jetzt aber vom Eigent\u00fcmer wieder ben\u00f6tigt.<\/p>\n

The sky is cloudy again. In the afternoon another camper arrived, a couple with a young\u00a0girl. Whilst we were still at the site at the lake, they were there as well. Meanwhile they rented a cabana but now the owner uses it himself.<\/i><\/p>\n

Wieder\u00a0ein sonniger Tag mit W\u00e4sche\u00a0waschen. F\u00fcr sp\u00e4ter\u00a0ist wieder ein Asado geplant. Diesmal hat jeder sein eigenes Grillgut (Gefl\u00fcgel) besorgt und Salate werden geteilt.Am sp\u00e4ten Mittag werden die H\u00e4hnchenkeulen vorbereitet und auf den Grill gelegt. Es wird wieder ein netter Nachmittag mit der ganzen Gruppe. Nur die arme Lola muss am Auto bleiben und heult jedes Mal zum herzerweichen, wenn ich zu unserem Auto komme.<\/p>\n

Another sunny day for clothes washing. We plan another asado for later today. This time everyone bought their own meat (chicken) and salads will be shared. Around 2pm the chicken wings were prepared and placed on\u00a0the barbecue. It\u2019s another nice day with the whole group. Only Lola has to\u00a0stay at the car. Every time I go to our truck, I hear her heartbroken whining.<\/i><\/p>\n

Auf Facebook lesen wir eine Info, dass die argentinische Regierung den Verkauf von Flugtickets f\u00fcr Fl\u00fcge vor dem 01.09.2020 verboten hat. Das soll zum\u00a0Schutz der Verbraucher sein, da offensichtlich viele Leute mehrere Fl\u00fcge gebucht haben, die dann alle wieder storniert wurden und die Leute jetzt ihrem Geld hinterherlaufen. Wir interpretieren das aber auch so, dass es vor dem 01.09. keine Fl\u00fcge geben wird und wahrscheinlich auch die Grenzen nicht ge\u00f6ffnet werden. Das w\u00e4re es dann mit unserem Flug Mitte Juli\u00a0ab Montevideo. Allerdings soll es alle 14 Tage eine neue Bewertung der Situation geben und dann neu entschieden werden.<\/p>\n

Today we read on Facebook that the Argentinian government prohibited the sale of tickets for flights scheduled before 1st September. For us\u00a0this means, that there will be no regular\u00a0flights before that date and that borders will not be re-opened either. This would mean, that we can write-off our flight home from Uruguay in mid-July. However, the situation will be re-assessed and decisions adjusted on a bi-weekly basis.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Es ist so gekommen wie vermutet. Die Ausgangssperre wurde bis 10.05.2020 verl\u00e4ngert. Allerdings gibt es auch eine\u00a0Lockerung: Man darf sich jetzt 1 Stunde pro Tag im Umkreis von 500 Metern vom Wohnort im Freien aufhalten. Sport ist aber ausdr\u00fccklich verboten.<\/p>\n

As expected the lockdown was extended until 10.05.2020. However, there is one change: people are now allowed to go outside for non essential things but it\u00a0is limited to 1 hr per day and they have\u00a0to stay within 500 meters of their home. Sport is specifically prohibited.<\/i><\/p>\n

Die Tacos lagen mir nachts schwer im Magen und ich konnte erst sp\u00e4t einschlafen. Wir werden immer argentinischer und stehen erst um 10:45 h auf. Das Ger\u00fccht geht um, dass die Ausgangssperre nochmal um 15 Tage verl\u00e4ngert wird. Offensichtlich hat Argentinien gestern eine gr\u00f6\u00dfere Menge Corona Schnelltests bekommen. Damit wollen sie in Buenos Aires testen, wie viele Menschen schon immun sind. Danach soll dann entschieden werden, in welchen Schritten, die Sperre aufgehoben wird. Entweder heute oder morgen Abend wird der Pr\u00e4sident die weiteren Schritte verk\u00fcnden.<\/p>\n

My stomach didn’t deal well with the tacos and I only get to sleep late in the night. We become more and more like Argentinians and only get up at 10.45 am. Rumor has it that the lockdown will be extended for another 15 days. Obvioulsy the Argentinian government received a substantial amount of Corona quick test. They now want to check in Buenos Aires, how many people are already immune. Based on the result they then want to decide on an exit strategy. Either today or tomorrow the presindent will announce next steps in the evening.<\/i><\/p>\n

Es regnet als wir aufstehen und das \u00e4ndert sich auch im Laufe des Tages nicht gro\u00dfartig. Einer der Argentinier macht f\u00fcr alle mexikanische Tacos. Alles wird selber gemacht. Er hat mexikanische Wurzeln und ist Koch. Um 3h f\u00e4ngt er mit den Vorbereitungen an. Es ist schon nach 21h (f\u00fcr argentinische Verh\u00e4ltnisse fr\u00fch), ehe wir mit dem Essen anfangen. Wie so vieles hier, wurden\u00a0die Tacos in \u00d6l schwimmend gebacken. Lecker sind sie aber trotzdem.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s raining when we get up and it doesn\u2019t change a lot in the course of the day. One\u00a0of the\u00a0Argentinians with Mexican roots prepares tacos for the whole group. He\u2018s a trained cook and prepares everything himself. He started at 3pm and it is already past 9pm (still early for Argentina) when we start eating. As is often the case in Argentina, the\u00a0food\u00a0is fried in a lot of oil. But they\u00a0are yummi, anyhow.<\/i><\/p>\n

Wir sind fast den ganzen Tag im Auto. Abends bestellen ein paar Leute Pizza und wir essen zusammen in der H\u00fctte.

I go shopping in the morning. Ralph is busy with his Mac but he helps carrying the stuff. In the afternoon I clear everything from\u00a0the fridge and thoroughly clean it.<\/i><\/p>\n

Als letztes Fahrzeug\u00a0suchen wir uns auf dem Campingplatz einen neuen Standort. Jetzt\u00a0haben wir morgens fr\u00fcher Sonne und brauchen vielleicht die Heizung nicht so oft.<\/p>\n

We\u2018re the last vehicle to switch to a different site on the campground. Now we should be in the\u00a0sun a bit earlier in the morning and hopefully will not use the heating as much.<\/i><\/p>\n

In der Nacht hat es etwas geregnet und der Vormittag ist auch nicht besser. Wir haben den „Empanada Kochkura“ Teil 2 und machen erstmal den „Nudelteig“ und dann wird flei\u00dfig gef\u00fcllt, frittiert und anschlie\u00dfend nat\u00fcrlich auch gegessen. Sie waren sehr lecker. Nachmittags gibt es dann noch Ralphs Geburtstagskuchen. Ich habe gestern eine Art Philadelphia Torte und eine Biskuit Rolle gemacht. Auch die werden bis auf den letzten Kr\u00fcmel aufgegessen. Der Regen verfolgt uns den ganzen Tag und es ist recht frisch drau\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

During the night it started raining and the morning doesn’t look much better. We have the „E,mpanada cooking class“ part 2 und first prepare the dough (like noodles) before we fill, fry and eat them. They are very yummi. In the afternoon we have Ralph’s birthday cake. Yesterday I baked some kind of Philadelphia cake and a bisquit roll. Both vanish to the last piece. The rain continues the whole day and it is pretty cold outside.<\/i><\/p>\n

Ein Einheimischer kommt vorbei und nimmt Bestellungen f\u00fcr den Obst- & Gem\u00fcseladen entgegen. Ralph geht noch zum Supermarkt einkaufen. Zwei Journalisten der lokalen Zeitungen kommen auf den Platz, sprechen mit verschiedenen Leuten und machen zwei Gruppenfotos. Es ist schon deutlich bew\u00f6lkter als in den letzten Tagen. Wir haben den „Empanada Kochkurs“ Teil 1 – die F\u00fcllung.<\/p>\n

A local stops and takes orders for the fruit and vegetable shop. Ralph does some shopping at the supermarket. Two journalists from the local newspaper visit us, talk to some people and take two group pictures. It’s much more cloudy than the last couple of days. Heute Morgen werden wir wieder alle f\u00fcr eine Ansprache versammelt, erst habe ich die Bef\u00fcrchtung, dass es wegen des Fr\u00fchst\u00fccks gestern doch noch \u00c4rger gibt, aber dann stellt sich raus, dass es um das Gesundheitszeugnis und die Fahrgenehmigung f\u00fcr die Argentinier geht, die wegen der zu erwartenden K\u00e4lte Richtung Norden fahren wollen um bei Familie Unterschlupf zu bekommen. Am Abend verlassen uns dann tats\u00e4chlich 4 Autos \/ Personen. Trotz der widrigen Umst\u00e4nde war es eine sch\u00f6ne Zeit mit euch. Alles Gute – Buen viaje.

In the morning we\u2018re called for\u00a0an announcement. Initially I suspect that it might be related to yesterday\u2019s breakfast but it turns out to be about the health and driving certificate for the Argentinians who want to drive North and find shelter with family due to the upcoming cold. Indeed 4 cars \/ 9 people leave in the evening. Although the circumstances were not the best, it was a great time with\u00a0you guys. Have a safe\u00a0trip – Buen viaje.

Heute war der Tag des gemeinsamen Osterfr\u00fchst\u00fccks. Um kurz nach 9h kommen Marie und David und wir backen Osterhasen und Pancakes. Gegen 11:30h sind fast alle anwesend und es ist ein tolles Buffet zusammengekommen. Irgendwann kommt die Polizei, da sich offenbar Nachbarn beschwert haben, aber die Camoingplatzbetreiber sind auch anwesend und k\u00f6nnen die Situation schnell kl\u00e4ren. Es war ein toller Tag und das Wetter hat auch mitgespielt; danach sah es morgens noch nicht aus.<\/p>\n

Today is the day of\u00a0our Easter breakfast. Shortly after 9am Marie and David join us and we bake bunny shaped breads and pancakes. Around 11:30h nearly everybody has gathered and we have an incredible and delicious buffet. At some point the police stops by. Obviously some neighbours habe complained that we don\u2019t follow the rules but since the owners are with us as well, this can easily be settled. It was a very nice day and even the weather „played\u201c along. It didn\u2019t look like this when we got\u00a0up earlier.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Heute haben wir die Ostereier\u00a0gekocht und bemalt.Da uns nur Bunt- und Filzstifte zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen, lassen wir auch mal f\u00fcnf gerade sein und bringen nit etwas Farbe auf die Eier. David entpuppt sich aber wieder als K\u00fcnstler und bemalt die Eier lustig und anspruchsvoll. Abends bekommen wir wieder Brot und Kuchen von\u00a0der lokalen B\u00e4ckerei.<\/p>\n

Today we cook and paint the eggs. Since we only have \u201enormal\u201c coloured pencils, we don\u2019t take it too serious and just ensure there is a bit of colour on the eggs. David however displays his artistic talent again and paints funny pictures. In the evening the local bakery again supplies us with bread and cakes.<\/i><\/p>\n

Bettw\u00e4sche waschen Tag 2. Osterk\u00f6rbe bemalen und kleben mit Constance, Marie & David. Die\u00a0Argentinier organisieren einen Kinoabend. Wir schauen uns eine sehr interessante Dokumentation \u00fcber die Beatles an (Englisch mit spanischen Untertiteln). Es gibt sogar Popcorn, wird gegen Ende aber ziemlich kalt; trotz Decken.<\/p>\n

Washing bed\u00a0linens day 2. Painting and glueing together little paper baskets for Easter with Constance, Marie and David. The Argentinians organised a cinema evening. We watch an interesting documentary about the Beatles and even have popcorn. But it gets a bit\u00a0cold towards the end (although we had blankets).<\/i><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Heute stand ein Gro\u00dfeinkauf auf dem Programm. Da Ralph beim letzten Mal nicht alles gefunden hat, mache ich mich auf den Weg und er kommt 20 Minuten sp\u00e4ter nach und hilft beim Tragen. Nachmittags treffen wir uns alle zu ein paar\u00a0Pl\u00e4tzchen und Kaffee, Tee oder Mate auf der Wiese.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today we went for a big shopping trip. Since Ralph couldn\u2019t find everything last time, I go and he follows 20 minutes later to help carrying all the stuff. In the afternoon the whole group gathers\u00a0for some cookies and, coffee, tea or mate.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Gestern wurde nachmittags noch eine Yoga Stunde auf dem Platz organisiert, die heute wiederholt wird. Ralphs neues Projekt l\u00e4sst sich leider mit der Ausstattung, die er hier hat, nicht verwirklichen. Er wollte von allen hier auf dem Platz die Iris fotografieren. Yesterday afternoon someone organized a yoga session which was repeated today. Unfortunately, Ralph can’t realize his new project with the equipment that he has at hand. He wanted to take a picture of everyone\u2019s Iris. It’s a shame! He now needs to find something else to keep himself busy but there are enough options.<\/em><\/p>\n

We’d planned to already be more north in warmer areas, but live isn’t about what you want. Ralph has a new photo project. We are still fine.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Letzte Nacht war es sehr kalt; 2\u00b0C. Der Herbst ist im Anmarsch. Im Auto hatten wir morgens um 10h knappe 14\u00b0C, aber mit Heizung und Kaffeekochen wurde es schnell wieder warm. Die Ausgangssperre in Argentinien wurde bis einschlie\u00dflich 12.04.2020 verl\u00e4ngert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last night it was pretty cold; 2\u00b0C. Autumn is coming,\u00a0Around 10am we had about 14\u00b0C in the car, but with heating and coffee cooking it was soon warm again.\u00a0 The curfew in Argentina was extended until 12th April 2020 (including).<\/em><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Heute hat es h\u00e4ufiger geregnet. Wir verbringen fast\u00a0den ganzen Tag mit Bildbearbeitung, lesen, Laptops aktualisieren und Nichtstun (sind wieder nicht fertig geworden) im\u00a0Auto.<\/span>

We had rain most of the day. We spend nearly the whole day with photos, reading, updating our laptops and chilling (again didn\u2019t manage to finish) inside Albatros.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

27. M\u00e4rz 2020 \/\u00a027th\u00a0March 2020<\/em><\/strong>
\n<\/strong>Gestern wurden wir gegen Abend noch zu einem kurzen Treffen zusammengerufen. Es gibt jetzt auch in San Martin einen (noch unbest\u00e4tigten) Corona-Patienten. Wir wurden nochmals gebeten, so wenig wie m\u00f6glich (am besten nur 1 x pro Woche) zum Supermarkt zu gehen und uns auch auf dem Platz so unauff\u00e4llig wie m\u00f6glich zu verhalten, damit es keinen \u00c4rger mit Nachbarn gibt. Ralph steht morgens fr\u00fch auf und geht zum Supermarkt (von 8-9h soll es eine Sonder\u00f6ffnungszeit f\u00fcr Menschen \u00fcber 60 geben). Der Supermarkt macht dann doch erst um 9h auf und Ralph bekommt auch nicht alles, aber wir sind immer noch gut versorgt. Den restlichen Tag verbringen wir mit W\u00e4sche waschen Teil 2 und weiteren Gespr\u00e4chen zum Thema Kamera und Fotosoftware.<\/span>

Yesterday afternoon we were all gather for a short meeting. Obviously, they\u00a0have\u00a0one Corona case (not yet confirmed) now in San Martin. Again, we’re asked to only leave the campground for shopping (once a week) and stay as low profile on the site as possible to avoid any complaints from neighbors. Ralph gets up early and walks to the supermarket (there is supposed to be extra opening time from 8-9 am for people above the age of 60) but has to wait until the market opens at 9 am. He doesn’t get everything on the list, but we are still good. The remainder of the day is used for laundry part 2 and further discussions about cameras and photo software.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nIn ca. 2 Stunden sollen wir auf einen Campingplatz umziehen. Die Argentinier haben erreicht, dass wir den Platz bekommen und so lange die Ausgangssperre gilt, nichts bezahlen m\u00fcssen. Sie haben z. T. keine Dusche\/Toilette in ihren Autos und leben vom Verkauf von Souvenirs, der im Moment ja auch null ist. Wir hoffen, dass wir auf dem Platz WiFi und\/oder Handynetz haben, damit wir euch und uns weiter auf dem Laufenden halten k\u00f6nnen.<\/span><\/p>\n

In approx. 2 hrs we\u2018ll move to a campground. The Argentinians managed to negotiate that we don\u2019t have to pay the camping\u00a0ad long as the curfew is in place. Some if them don\u2019t have showers\/toilets in their cars and they live from selling souvenirs, which is zero right now. We hope there\u2019ll be WiFi and\/or mobile reception to keep you and us up to date.<\/em><\/p>\n

23. M\u00e4rz 2020 \/\u00a023rd March 2020<\/em><\/strong>
\nScheinbar hat die Polizei eine Unterkunft f\u00fcr die Leute mit Zelten gefunden. Sie wurden heute Morgen abgeholt. Wir sind jetzt noch 28 Personen in 11 Fahrzeugen. Jemand aus der\u00a0Gruppe hat heute im Namen aller je einen\u00a0\u00a0Brief an die Gemeinde und an die\u00a0Polizei geschickt und darum gebeten, dass wir die Duschen bei der Policia Naval nutzen k\u00f6nnen (daf\u00fcr m\u00fcssen wir nicht in die Stadt) und dass die Fahrzeuge mit Wasser- und Abwassertanks bei Bedarf zum lokalen Wasserwerk fahren d\u00fcrfen (auch daf\u00fcr m\u00fcssen wir nicht in die Stadt). Auch heute wurden wir wieder mit Brot versorgt und es geht uns, trotz leichtem Regen, gut.<\/span>

It seems the police found a solution for those who were staying in tents. The picked them up this morning. We\u2019re now 28 people in\u00a011 campers. Someone from the group set up a letter in the whole group\u2019s name\u00a0to the municipality and the Policia Naval, asking for permission to use the showers at the Police Naval office (no need to walk through town) and for those trucks with water tanks to drive to the waste water management plant (no need to drive through town either). Again, we were provided with bread today and we\u2019re still doing good, although today we have some light rain<\/em>.

\nHeute war die Polizei wieder hier. Leute aus der Nachbarschaft haben sich beschwert, dass wir so viel drau\u00dfen sind. Wir w\u00fcrden hier Partys veranstalten und Fu\u00dfballspiele durchf\u00fchren. Gestern haben 2 Frauen max. 30 Minuten mit ihren Kindern \u201eFu\u00dfball\u201c gespielt. Wir d\u00fcrfen immer 1 Person\u00a0zum Supermarkt. Dort gibt\u00a0es noch alles.

Today police stopped by again. Some neighbours complained that we\u2019re outside so much and arguing that we\u2019re having parties and\u00a0<\/em>organising soccer matches.\u00a0Yesterday 2 women played \u201esoccer\u201c with their kids for max. 30 minutes. We\u2019re allowed to go to the supermarket one at a time. They are fully stocked.
\nWe\u2018re now in contact with German TV and radio journalists. Maybe you\u2019ll hear or see\u00a0us on radio or TV (ARD – Weltspiegel) in the next couple of days.<\/em>

\nGestern wollte der B\u00fcrgermeister, dass die Polizei alle Touristen auffordert, die Stadt zu verlassen. Die Polizei hat sich daf\u00fcr eingesetzt, dass wir bleiben d\u00fcrfen, da wir ja sonst nirgendwo hink\u00f6nnen. Ansonsten ist die Situation unver\u00e4ndert. Uns geht es gut und noch haben wir genug zu essen & trinken.<\/p>\n

Yesterday the major told the police, to ask\u00a0all tourist to leave town. However, the police told him that we have nowhere to go and insisted that we can stay. Otherwise, the situation hasn\u2018t changed. We\u2019re still fine and have sufficient stock to eat\u00a0& drink.<\/em>

\nGanz Argentinien steht seit Mitternacht vorerst bis 31.03. unter Quarant\u00e4ne. Wir\u00a0d\u00fcrfen nur zum Supermarkt, zur Apotheke etc. Es muss aber der\/die n\u00e4chstgelegene sein. Ausnahmen gelten f\u00fcr bestimmte Personengruppen (Pflege, \u00c4rzte, Sicherheit, Einzelhandel etc.). Es geht uns aber immer noch gut.<\/p>\n

Since 0:00h all of Argentinia\u00a0is in quarantine until (for now) 31st March. We\u2019re only allowed to go to the supermarket, pharmacy etc. but it has to be the one closest. Exceptions are made for certain groups of people (nurses, doctors, security, supermarkets etc.). <\/em>We\u2019re still fine.<\/em>

\nDie Stra\u00dfen werden hier langsam leerer. Heute Morgen hat die Polizei die Zufahrt zum Strand gesperrt. Es gibt Informationen (Ger\u00fcchte?), dass es eine\u00a0Ausgangssperre gibt und dass alle Ausl\u00e4nder f\u00fcr 14 Tage\u00a0in Quarant\u00e4ne m\u00fcssen. Genaues wissen wir aber dazu nicht. Wir halten uns hier bedeckt. Die Polizei war mehrfach hier am Platz, hat uns aber in Ruhe\u00a0gelassen. Es geht uns gut.<\/p>\n

Streets are getting empty. Access to beach was closed off this morning. There is information (rumors?) that there will be a curfew and all foreigners need to go into a 14 days quarantine. We don\u2019t know details since we don\u2019t . Police was at the site a few times but left\u00a0us alone. <\/em>We are fine!<\/em><\/p>\n

18. M\u00e4rz 2020 \/\u00a0<\/strong>18th March 2020<\/strong><\/em>
\nAls wir die ersten Nachrichten aus China geh\u00f6rt haben, dachten wir, wie so viele andere, das ist weit weg. Dann zog der Virus in Europa ein und die Nachrichten wurden immer Schlimmer. Wir m\u00fcssen uns was \u00fcberlegen.
\nPlan A<\/u>: Das sitzen wir hier aus und bis wir nach Hause fliegen, ist das Schlimmste \u00fcberstanden. Dann habe ich den Bericht eines deutschen Virologen gelesen, der den H\u00f6hepunkt der Pandemie in Deutschland f\u00fcr Juni bis August erwartet. Sch\u2026 das ist ja genau der Zeitpunkt, wenn wir zu Hause sein wollen, denn wir haben inzwischen f\u00fcr den 16.07. Fl\u00fcge nach Deutschland gebucht.
\nIrgendwann hat der Virus seinen Weg dann auch nach S\u00fcdamerika gefunden. Im Gegensatz zu Europa haben die L\u00e4nder – bis auf Brasilien, das die meisten Erkrankungen hat – schnell reagiert und angefangen die Grenzen zu schlie\u00dfen und Quarant\u00e4nema\u00dfnahmen zu ergreifen. Vorsichtshalber sind wir dann mit Ralphs Medikamentenliste in eine Apotheke gegangen und mussten zu unserem Entsetzen feststellen, dass 3 Medikamente\/Wirkstoffe in Argentinien nicht erh\u00e4ltlich sind.
\nPlan B:<\/u>Wir sehen zu, dass wir nach Uruguay kommen und unseren Flug auf fr\u00fcher umbuchen. Tja, daf\u00fcr waren wir dann wohl schon zu sp\u00e4t. Bis Uruguay sind es noch 2.000 km und daf\u00fcr brauchen wir mindestens 3 Tage. Uruguay hat mit Ablauf des n\u00e4chsten Tages die Grenzen geschlossen.
\nNat\u00fcrlich haben wir auf Facebook und im Gespr\u00e4ch und per WhatsApp mit anderen Reisenden bzw. auch der Heimat Kontakt gehabt und \u00fcberlegt, was macht den meisten Sinn. Dazu gab es ungef\u00e4hr so viele Meinungen, wie Leute. Aber wir m\u00fcssen uns entscheiden.
\nPlan C<\/u>: Wir fahren nach Cordoba, wo andere Deutsche auf einem Campingplatz stehen und setzen uns mit der deutschen Botschaft in Verbindung, um zu kl\u00e4ren, ob wir \u00fcber das R\u00fcckholprogram der Bundesregierung nach Deutschland fliegen (was ja sicherlich f\u00fcr Ralph auch nicht die ideale Situation w\u00e4re), oder wie wir an Medikamente kommen. Mit dem Plan sind wir genau bis 30 km n\u00f6rdlich von San Martin de los Andes gekommen. Dann wurde uns an einer Stra\u00dfensperre durch die Polizei mitgeteilt, dass wir zur\u00fcckfahren m\u00fcssen. 25 km zur\u00fcck steht dann eine Stra\u00dfensperre, die vorher noch nicht war. Da will man uns erst nicht wieder reinlassen. Nach 1-1,5 Stunden telefonieren und erkl\u00e4ren, d\u00fcrfen wir dann nach San Martin de los Andes weiterfahren. Die Polizisten waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einer hat uns seine Telefon-Nummer gegeben und gesagt, dass wir ihn anrufen sollen, wenn es Probleme gibt. Seine Frau spricht gut Englisch und sagt, dass sie uns so gut wie m\u00f6glich helfen wollen. Jetzt stehen wir auf einem Parkplatz am See und wissen nicht, wie lange wir hierbleiben m\u00fcssen. Solange wir uns im Ort bewegen k\u00f6nnen, sind wir gut versorgt. Der Supermarkt ist 600 Meter entfernt. Dixie-Toiletten, wo wir unsere WC-Kassette entleeren k\u00f6nnen, stehen am Platz. Ebenfalls in der N\u00e4he ist eine Stelle, wo wir Abwasser und WC-Kassette entleeren und Frischwasser auff\u00fcllen k\u00f6nnen.
\nPlan D:<\/u>Den gibt es im Moment noch nicht wirklich. Wir werden weiterhin versuchen, uns auf der Seite des Ausw\u00e4rtigen Amtes zu registrieren (die Seite ist augenblicklich hoffnungslos \u00fcberlastet) und uns mit der Botschaft in Verbindung zu setzen. Unsere Visa sind noch bis 21.05. g\u00fcltig. Eine Verl\u00e4ngerung ist wohl m\u00f6glich. Darum k\u00fcmmern wir uns dann Ende April oder Anfang Mai. Vielleicht ist die Situation bis dahin wieder etwas \u00fcbersichtlicher. Albatros darf bis 22.10. in Argentinien bleiben.<\/p>\n

When we first heard the news from China, we thought, as so many others, that it\u2019s far away. Then the virus was in Europe and news became worse. We need to develop a plan.<\/em>
\nPlan A:<\/u><\/em>\u00a0We\u2019ll stay put and by the time we\u2019ll fly home, the worst will be over. Then I read an article from a German scientist, who expected the peak in Germany to be between June and August. Sh\u2026. this is exactly, when we\u2019ll be home since we meanwhile booked flights for 16th July.\u00a0<\/em>
\nAt some point the virus found its way to South America. However, the governments here were much faster with closing the borders and implementing quarantine. Only Brasilia, which has most cases in South America, hasn\u2019t done a lot.\u00a0<\/em>
\nTo be on the safe side we went to a pharmacy to check Ralphs medicine. Can you imagine our shock, when we learned that 3 of his pills\/ are not available in Argentina?<\/em>
\nPlan B:<\/u><\/em>\u00a0We\u2019ll try to get to Uruguay and reschedule our flight to an earlier time. Hmm, we were too late for this. We still had 2000 km to drive, which will take us at least 3 days and Uruguay closed its borders at the end of the next day.\u00a0<\/em>
\nOf course, we checked news on Facebook, talked to and WhatsApped with other travelers and people at home to find out what makes most sense. There were as many opinions as people. But we need to decide.\u00a0<\/em>
\nPlan C:<\/u><\/em>\u00a0We\u2019ll drive north to Cordoba where other Germans are staying on a campground and get in contact with the embassy to see, if we can participate in the German program to get home all tourists or how to solve the issue with the pills. This plan was good for exactly 30 km north of San Martin de los Andes, when we were stopped at a road block and police told us we had to turn back again. Approx. 25 km on the way back there is another road block which wasn\u2019t there earlier and the police doesn\u2019t want us to continue. After approx. 1-1.5 hrs of telephone calls and explaining our trip we are allowed to drive to San Martin de los Andes. The police guys were very friendly and helpful. One even gave us his phone number and said to call if we have any problems. His wife speaks good Englisch and said they would help us as much as possible. Now we\u2019re at a parking directly at the lake and don\u2019t know for how long we need to stay here. As long as we can move around in town, we are fine. The supermarket is 600 meters away. There are Dixie toilets where we can empty our WC-cassette. Additionally, there is a place close by where we can dump our waste water and the WC-cassette and fill up our fresh water tanks.<\/em>
\nPlan D:<\/u><\/em>\u00a0This one currently doesn\u2019t exist. We\u2019ll continue trying to register on the website of the German Foreign Ministry (it\u2019s currently hopelessly overloaded) and we\u2019ll contact the Embassy. Our visas are valid until 21st May. An extension is obviously possible but we\u2019ll look into this more closely by end of April or beginning of May.
