Von Rosario fahren wir weiter nach Santa Fe. Leider k\u00f6nnen wir nicht am Club Nautico stehen bleiben. Da es wieder so hei\u00df ist, parken wir dann auf der Zufahrt nur f\u00fcr einen kurzen Spaziergang zur Plaza 25 de Mayo. Anschlie\u00dfend fahren wir an die Laguna Setubal, wo wir ganz am Ende einen ruhigen Stellplatz finden. Wir bekommen von einem Reporter Besuch, der sich trotz erheblicher Sprachschwierigkeiten mit uns unsere Reise unterhalten will. Ich hatte schon vor 2 Tagen mit dem Eigent\u00fcmer unseres n\u00e4chsten Stellplatzes Kontakt aufgenommen. Die Ausgrabungsst\u00e4tte von Cayast\u00e1 sind zwar nach einem Feuer seit Dezember 2021 geschlossen, wir beschlie\u00dfen aber trotzdem f\u00fcr 2 Tage zu ihm zu fahren. Da er erst ab 18h Zuhause ist, tr\u00f6deln wir tags\u00fcber noch an der Laguna rum. Gerade als wir rausfahren, kommen uns Gabi und Frank mit Paula entgegen. Nach einem kurzen Plausch geht es dann weiter. Silvio erwartet uns an der YPF in Cayast\u00e1. Erst l\u00e4dt er uns noch auf einen Kaffee\/ein Wasser ein und dann fahren wir zu seinem Haus, wo wir Albatros im Garten abstellen k\u00f6nnen. Abends l\u00e4dt uns Silvio noch zum Essen im Comedor Eden ein. So war das eigentlich mit der Gastfreundschaft nicht gedacht und wir bekommen ein schlechtes Gewissen. Der n\u00e4chste Tag ist wieder hei\u00df und wir bleiben, bis auf einen kurzen Spaziergang durch die Siedlung, die ganze Zeit am Haus und im Pool und Silvio versorgt uns wieder mit Essen. Inzwischen hat Silvio erfahren, dass wir am Sonntag an einer F\u00fchrung an der Ausgrabungsst\u00e4tte teilnehmen k\u00f6nnen. Also verl\u00e4ngern wir unseren Aufenthalt und am Freitag kommen noch Johanna und Klaus mit Balu dazu. Am Samstag gibt es dann ein typisches argentinisches Asado mit einem Teil von von Silvios Familie. Die F\u00fchrung am Sonntag ist sehr interessant. Cayast\u00e1 war urspr\u00fcnglich die Stelle, wo Santa Fe gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Leider k\u00f6nnen wir nur eines der \u201eH\u00e4user\u201c (in dem Fall nur ein St\u00fcck erhaltener Mauer) besichtigen, aber unsere F\u00fchrerin Ana Laura ist mit soviel Enthusiasmus dabei, dass sie diesen Mangel locker ausgleicht. Am Montag hei\u00dft es dann Abschied nehmen und wir fahren gemeinsam weiter Richtung Parque Nacional Iber\u00e1. Da wir noch einkaufen, kommen wir an dem Tag nicht mehr sehr weit und \u00fcbernachten auf der Stra\u00dfe voe einer nicht \u00f6ffentlichen Tankstelle. In Mercedes klappt es wieder nicht mit dem geplanten \u00dcbernachtungsplatz, da er umgebaut wurde und wir nicht mehr mit den Autos drauf d\u00fcrfen. Also \u00fcbernachten wir auch hier ein St\u00fcck weiter in einer Seitenstra\u00dfe. Im Parque Nacional Iber\u00e1 wollen wir zum Portal Laguna Iber\u00e1. Die anderen Portale sind z. T. wegen Brandsch\u00e4den gesperrt oder f\u00fcr uns von den Aktivit\u00e4ten nicht so interessant.  Die ersten 40 km der RP40 sind gut ausgebaut, aber dann wird es eine Naturstra\u00dfe, die w\u00e4hrend und unmittelbar nach Regen nicht befahren werden darf. Wir merken dann auch, warum das so ist. F\u00fcr 70 km brauchen wir ungef\u00e4hr 3 Stunden.  An der Rangerstation zahlen wir unseren Eintritt und schauen uns den Film (leider nur auf Spanisch) an. Dann geht es zum Campingplatz. Besonders gut gef\u00e4llt er uns nicht, da es wenig Schatten gibt und wir finden ihn auch relativ teuer. Wir sind die einzigen G\u00e4ste und das Sanit\u00e4rgeb\u00e4ude ist nicht sauber und wird auch am n\u00e4chsten Tag, den wir wegen Regen fast ausschlie\u00dflich im Auto verbringen, nicht ges\u00e4ubert. Johanna hat per WhatsApp f\u00fcr den \u00fcbern\u00e4chsten Tag eine Bootstour f\u00fcr uns gebucht, die von dem anderen Campingplatz startet. Dieser kostet genauso viel, ist aber wenigsten sauber, aber wir kommen wegen H\u00f6henbegrenzung nicht auf den Platz drauf. Die Tour in einen Seitenarm des Flusses ist recht interessant und wir kommen ziemlich nah an Wasserschweine, Kaymane und verschiedene V\u00f6gel ran. Auch ein Reh und einen Hirsch bekommen wir zu sehen. Unser Plan war, die RP40 weiter Richtung Norden aus dem Park rauszufahren. Die Ranger raten uns aber dringend davon ab, da dieser Teil der Stra\u00dfe \u201emuy feo\u201c (sehr h\u00e4\u00dflich) sei. Also fahren wir die 120 km wieder Richtung S\u00fcden zur\u00fcck. Damit die 70 km Naturstra\u00dfe nicht zu anstrengend werden, fahren wir das erste St\u00fcck schon nachmittags und \u00fcbernachten unterwegs am Abzweig zum Portal Uguay. Auch in Alvarez \u00fcbernachten wir nochmal zusammen und in Santo Tome trennen sich unsere Wege dann erstmal. Wir wollen weiter nach Iguaz\u00fa und Johanna und Klaus wollen nach Paraguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Rosario we continue to Santa Fe. Unfortunately, we cannot stay at Club Nautico. Since it is so hot again, we only park on the access road for a short walk to Plaza 25 de Mayo. Afterwards we drive to Laguna Setubal, where we find a quiet parking space at the very end. We get a visit from a reporter who, despite considerable language difficulties, wants to discuss our trip with. 2 days ago, I already contacted the owner of the place we want to go to next. The excavation site of Cayast\u00e1 is since December 2021 due to a fire, but we decide to go to his place for 2 days anyway. Since he\u2019ll only be at home at around 18h, we relax during the day still at the Laguna. Just as we leave, we meet Gabi and Frank with Paula. After a short chat we continue our journey. Silvio is waiting for us at the YPF in Cayast\u00e1. First, he invites us for a coffee\/water and then we drive to his house where we can park Albatros in the garden. In the evening Silvio invites us to dinner at Comedor Eden. This is not how hospitality was meant to be and we have a guilty conscience. The next day is hot again and we spend the whole day, except for a short walk through the settlement, at the house and in the pool and Silvio supplies us with food again. In the meantime, Silvio has learned that we can participate in a guided tour at the excavation site on Sunday. So, we extend our stay and on Friday Johanna and Klaus join us with Balu. On Saturday we have a typical Argentinean asado with part of Silvio’s family. The guided tour on Sunday is very interesting. Cayast\u00e1 is the place where Santa Fe was originally founded. Unfortunately, we can only visit one of the „houses“ (in this case only a piece of preserved wall), but our guide Ana Laura is so enthusiastic that she easily makes up for this lack. On Monday it is time to say goodbye and we continue together with Johanna und Klaus towards Parque Nacional Iber\u00e1. Since we still have to do some shopping, we don’t get very far that day and spend the night on the street of a non-public gas station. In Mercedes the planned site for the overnight stay doesn\u2019t work, because it was rebuilt and cars can no longer enter. Again, we spend the night also here a bit further in a side street. In Parque Nacional Iber\u00e1 we want to go to the portal Laguna Iber\u00e1. The other portals are partly closed because of fire damage or not so interesting for us from the activities.  The first 40 km of the RP40 are well developed, but then it becomes a natural road, which may not be driven during and immediately after rain. We soon realize why this is so. For 70 km we need about 3 hours.  At the ranger station we pay our entrance fee and watch the movie (unfortunately only in Spanish). Then we move on to the campground. We don’t like it very much because there is little shade and we find it relatively expensive. We are the only guests and the sanitary building is not clean and is also not cleaned the next day, which we spend almost exclusively in the camper because of rain. Via WhatsApp Johanna has booked a boat tour for us for the day after. This starts from the other campsite. It costs just as much, but is at least clean. Unfortunately, we can\u2019t enter it because of height limitation. The tour into a side arm of the river is quite interesting and we get pretty close to capybaras, kaymans and various birds. We also get to see a doe and a deer. Our plan was to take the RP40 further north out of the park. But the rangers strongly advise us not to do so, because this part of the road is „muy feo“ (very ugly). Therefore, we drive the 120 km back south. To split the exhausting 70 km of natural road, we drive the first part already in the afternoon and stay overnight at the turnoff to Portal Uguay. In Alvarez we spend the night together again and in Santo Tome our ways separate for the time being.
