Bevor wir zum Park Manantial in Hohenau fahren, stoppen wir noch kurz um uns mit Bargeld zu versorgen. Wir sind jetzt Million\u00e4re, denn 1,5 Millionen paraguayische Guaranis (PYG) entsprechen ca. \u20ac 200. Da es bereits dunkel wird und angefangen hat zu regnen, verzichten wir auf das Einkaufen im gro\u00dfen Supermarkt und fahren weiter. Im Dunkeln finden wir zwar den Park, aber den Stellplatz nicht auf Anhieb. So landen wir am Restaurant, wo uns Johanna und Klaus empfangen. Albatros steht hier unter B\u00e4umen im Schatten, aber wir haben Stromanschluss um die Batterien zu laden. Es ist immer noch sehr hei\u00df und so lassen wir es die n\u00e4chsten 18 Tage ruhig angehen. Als es zwischendurch mal Regen gibt, steht direkt alles unter Wasser. Dank sauberer Sanit\u00e4ranlagen, einem kleinen Restaurant und einem Pool l\u00e4sst es sich gut aushalten. Ganz faul sind wir allerdings nicht. Hohenau war schon immer eine deutsche gepr\u00e4gte Enklave. Aktuell finden sich hier auch viele junge deutsche Familien, die wegen der drohenden Impfpflicht ausgewandert sind. Allerdings haben wir mit diesen nicht viel Kontakt. Der andere Vorteil ist, dass man hier Handwerker findet, die Deutsch sprechen und die Preise f\u00fcr unsere Verh\u00e4ltnisse sehr g\u00fcnstig sind. Wir lassen ein paar Stellen schwei\u00dfen (Auspuff, Aufh\u00e4ngung Abwassertank, Scharnier Au\u00dfenbox) und finden eine L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr unsere defekte Scheibe der T\u00fcr. Das Panzerband, mit dem wir das Loch geklebt hatten, l\u00f6ste sich inzwischen und wir hatten einen Riss \u00fcber die gesamte H\u00f6he. Auch eine Inspektion mit Einstellen der Ventile, \u00d6lwechsel und Kontrolle der Keilriemen wird gemacht. Und endlich bekommt Albatros eine gr\u00fcndliche W\u00e4sche. Am 9. April verlassen wir dann Manantial. Die ersten Stationen f\u00fchren uns nur ein paar Kilometer weiter. Wir besuchen die beiden Jesuiten Missionen \u201eSantisima Trinidad del Paran\u00e1\u201c und \u201eJes\u00fas de Tavarang\u00fce\u201c. Bei beiden Missionen kann man abends eine Licht- und Tonshow ansehen. Daher \u00fcbernachten wir jeweils auf den Parkpl\u00e4tzen. Die Shows der beiden Anlagen sind sehr unterschiedlich. Am 1. Abend laufen wir mit einer F\u00fchrerin \u00fcber die Anlage und es wird immer nur der Teil beleuchtet, in dem wir uns gerade aufhalten. Das Ganze wird mit entsprechenden Tonger\u00e4uschen unterlegt; als wir \u00fcber freies Feld laufen h\u00f6ren wir Wind und Tiere, als wir uns der Kirche n\u00e4hern, h\u00f6ren wir Orgelmusik. Am 2. Abend werden wir zu einem Podium gef\u00fchrt und k\u00f6nnen uns dann eine computergesteuerte \u201eDiashow\u201c ansehen. Tags\u00fcber besuchen wir noch den \u201eParque Ecologico It\u00e1 Caj\u00f3n\u201c mit sch\u00f6nen Holzfiguren. Da es regnet, hat der ganze Park etwas Mystisches an sich. Unser n\u00e4chstes Ziel ist Encarnaci\u00f3n. Dort bringen wir als erstes unsere W\u00e4sche weg und f\u00fcllen die Vorr\u00e4te auf. Nat\u00fcrlich laufen wir auch die klassischen Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten (Costanera, Kathedrale, Plaza de Armas) ab und genie\u00dfen abends einen sch\u00f6nen Sonnenuntergang in einer Strandbar. Bevor wir Encarnaci\u00f3n Richtung Staudamm Yacarata verlassen, stoppen wir noch am \u201ePaseo de los Enarmorados\u201c und den \u201eEscalinata San Pedro\u201c. Beides sind Treppen, die mit Mosaiksteinen im Gaudi-Stil belegt sind. In Colonel Bogado, der Hauptstadt der Chipas, genie\u00dfen wir dann mittags auch ein paar dieser Spezialit\u00e4ten. Chipas sind \u201eBr\u00f6tchen\u201c die haupts\u00e4chlich aus Maniokmehl, Eiern und K\u00e4se bestehen. Im Original werden sie als Kringel verkauft, aber es gibt auch die Varianten mit K\u00e4se, Schinken, Hackfleisch oder Gefl\u00fcgel gef\u00fcllt. Die sehen dann wie unsere Br\u00f6tchen aus. In Santiago machen wir noch einen kurzen Stopp und schauen uns die Kirche und alte H\u00e4user der indigenen Bev\u00f6lkerung an. Nach dem Besuch des Staudammes (interessant, aber leider nur mit spanischer Erkl\u00e4rung und 2 kurzen Fotostopps) machen wir uns auf den Weg nach San Ignacio Guaz\u00fa. Da es in den letzten Tagen ein paar Mal geregnet hat, sind die Weiden und Wiesen ein einziges Sumpfgebiet und die K\u00fche stehen z. T. bis zum Bauch im Wasser. Der Abstecher nach Santa Rosa hat sich nicht wirklich gelohnt, da die Kirch hinter einem Bauzaun steht und die Kapelle verschlossen ist. Am fr\u00fchen Nachmittag erreichen wir unser Ziel und machen sp\u00e4ter noch einen ersten Erkundungsspaziergang. Am Plaza \u201eSan Roque Gonzalez des Santa Cruz\u201c haben die Kunsthandwerker ihre St\u00e4nde aufgeschlagen und ein Food Truck baut gerade auf. Wir bleiben dort h\u00e4ngen und g\u00f6nnen uns Hamburger bzw. Lomitos und dazu ein paar Cocktails. An Karfreitag besuchen wir erst das interessante \u201eMuseo Diocesano San Ignacio Guaz\u00fa Misiones\u201c, nachmittags laufen wir nochmal durch den Ort und es gibt Geburtstagskuchen, bevor wir uns gegen 17h gegen\u00fcber dem Eingang der Kirche einen Platz reservieren. Hier kommt n\u00e4mlich abends die Prozession, die ca. 8 km weiter in Tanarandy startet, an. Die Prozession findet seit 30 Jahren statt und dieses Jahr wird die Marienstatue nach 400 Jahren wieder mit der Jesustatue vereint. Schon morgens sehen wir die Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr die Prozession. Ca. 1 Monat lang haben 30-50 Familien rund 7.000 Kerzen aus halbierten, ausgeh\u00f6hlten Orangen hergestellt. Diese werden rund um die Kirche und auf der Stra\u00dfe, \u00fcber die die Prozession kommen wird, ausgelegt. Kurz vor Eintreffen der Prozession entz\u00fcnden die wartenden Passanten die Kerzen und es zieht noch eine kleine Trommlergruppe 1 x um den Kirchplatz um die Ankunft anzuk\u00fcndigen. Da die Prozession erst gegen 21h (angek\u00fcndigt war 18:30h) eintrifft, war es schon sehr dunkel und die Fotos sind nicht so gut geworden, wie erhofft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English Version (no translation of Geman text)<\/strong> Before we drive to Parque Manantial in Hohenau, we briefly stop to get some cash. We are now millionaires; 1.5 million Paraguayan guaranis (PYG) equal about \u20ac 200. Since it is already getting dark and has begun to rain, we don`t go shopping at the supermarket and continue driving. It\u2019s finally dark when we arrive at the Parque and we struggle to find the parking. So, we end up at the restaurant, where Johanna and Klaus welcome us. Albatros is parked under trees in the shade, but we have electricity to charge the batteries. It is still very hot and so we take it easy for the next 18 days. When we had rain, everything immediately is pretty wet. Thanks to clean sanitary facilities, a small restaurant and a pool it very chilling. However, we are not completely lazy. Hohenau has always been a German enclave. Currently, there are also many young German families who have emigrated because of the impending mandatory Corona vaccination. However, we do not have much contact with them. The other advantage is that you can find mechanics who speak German and the prices are very reasonable. We have a few things welded (exhaust, suspension waste water tank, hinge outside box) and find a solution for our broken door window. The tape we used to cover the hole was meanwhile coming off and we had a crack across the entire height. Also, an inspection with adjustment of the valves, oil change and check of the V-belts is done. Last, but not least Albatros finally gets a thorough wash. On April 9th we leave Parque Manantial. The first stops are only a few kilometers away. We visit the two Jesuit missions „Santisima Trinidad del Paran\u00e1“ and „Jes\u00fas de Tavarang\u00fce“. At both missions we can watch a light and sound show in the evening. Therefore, we spend the nights on the parking lots. The shows of the two facilities are very different. On the 1st evening we walk with a guide through the only the area where we just walk is illuminated. The walk is accompanied by appropriate sound effects; as we walk across open fields, we hear wind and animals, as we approach the church, we hear organ music. On the 2nd evening we are taken to a podium and can watch a computerized „slide show“. During the day we visit the \u201cParque Ecologico It\u00e1 Caj\u00f3n\u201d with beautiful wooden figures. Since it is raining, the whole park has something mystical about it. Our next destination is Encarnaci\u00f3n. The first thing we do is to hand our clothes to a laundry and fill up our supplies. Of course, we also walk around the classic sights (Costanera, Cathedral, Plaza de Armas) and enjoy a nice sunset in a bar at a beach in the evening. Before we leave Encarnaci\u00f3n towards dam Yacarata, we stop at „Paseo de los Enarmorados“ and „Escalinata San Pedro“. Both are staircases covered with mosaic stones in Gaudi style. In Colonel Bogado, the capital of the Chipas, we enjoy some of these specialties for lunch. Chipas are „rolls“ that consist mainly of cassava flour, eggs and cheese. The traditional ones are sold as kringles, but there are also types filled with cheese, ham, minced meat or poultry. They then look like our buns. In Santiago we make another short stop to see the church and old houses of the indigenous population. After visiting the dam (interesting, but unfortunately only with Spanish explanation and 2 short photo stops) we drive on to San Ignacio Guaz\u00fa. Since it has rained a few times in the last few days, the pastures and meadows are a single marshy area and the cows are partly up to their bellies in water. The side trip to Santa Rosa was not really worth it, since the church is behind a construction fence and the chapel is closed. We reach our destination in the early afternoon and later go for a first exploratory walk. At the Plaza „San Roque Gonzalez des Santa Cruz“, the artesans have set up their stalls and a food truck is just getting ready. We stay there and treat ourselves to hamburgers, lomitos and a few cocktails. On Good Friday we first visit the „Museo Diocesano San Ignacio Guaz\u00fa Misiones“, in the afternoon we walk through the town again and have some birthday cake. Around 17h we block a place opposite the entrance of the church. This is the place, where the procession, which starts about 8 km further in Tanarandy, will arrive. 2022 is the 30 years anniversary and, after 400 years, the statue of Mary is reunited with the statue of Jesus. Already in the morning we see the preparations for the procession. For about 1 month, 30-50 families have made about 7,000 candles from halved, hollowed out oranges. These are laid out around the church and on the road through which the procession will come. Shortly before the arrival of the procession, the waiting passers-by light the candles and a small group of drummers marches around the church square to announce the arrival.
