Kurz vor Weihnachten treffen auch Karin und Detlef, die wir in Uruguay das 1. Mal getroffen haben, an der Playa ein. Wir verbringen sch\u00f6ne gemeinsame Weihnachtstage mit gutem Essen, guten Gespr\u00e4chen und Spazierg\u00e4ngen. Zum Abschied machen wir ein Lagerfeuer am Strand. Wir fahren weiter und die beiden bleiben noch ein paar Tage. In Constitucion erkundigen wir uns nach Tickets f\u00fcr die Schmalspurbahn nach \u2026. Diese k\u00f6nnen jedoch erst kurz vor der Fahrt gekauft werden. So erledigen wir nur ein paar Eink\u00e4ufe und suchen uns, nach kurzer Irrfahrt, einen Stellplatz am Strand. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang beschlie\u00dfen wir, noch ein St\u00fcck weiter zu fahren, da dort ein gr\u00f6\u00dferer Platz ist. Wir lassen die Fahrt mit der Schmalspurbahn ausfallen, denn wir h\u00e4tten fr\u00fch rausgemusst, es gibt keine Parkpl\u00e4tze am Bahnhof, wir h\u00e4tten mehrere Stunden in \u2026. Aufenthalt gehabt und dort ist es br\u00fcllend hei\u00df. Stattdessen fahren wir die K\u00fcstenstra\u00dfe weiter bis zum Fischereihafen Puerto Mahuillin. Dort wimmelt es nur so von M\u00f6wen, die auf Beute hoffen. Nach einem kurzen Bummel, fahren wir zur\u00fcck in die Stadt und holen uns noch Bargeld. Danach nehmen wir Kurs auf die D\u00fcnen von Put\u00fa. Leider sehen wir die 1. Zufahrt zu sp\u00e4t und sie ist auch sehr schmal. Die 2. Zufahrt ist dann jedoch schon recht weit von den D\u00fcnen weg. Also machen wir da nur Mittagspause und fahren dann noch bis La Trichera, wo wir neben dem Camping Municipal unser Nachtlager aufschlagen. Am Morgen geht es weiter Richtung Pichimelu. Die Fahrt wird jedoch zu einem kleinen Abenteuer. Zuerst will uns unser Navi \u00fcber eine extrem schmale und steile Stra\u00dfe schicken. Da nehmen wir doch lieber die 850 und die 830. Anfangs klappt auch alles ganz gut. Dann wollen wir Mittagspause machen, beschlie\u00dfen aber, die letzten 4,4 km noch eben zu fahren. Die Stra\u00dfe wird immer schmaler und ist nur noch ein Weg. Entgegenkommen darf uns hier kein Auto. Keine Chance, dass wir aneinander vorbeikommen, da rechts und links neben uns die B\u00f6schung \u00bd Meter hoch ist. Pl\u00f6tzlich denke ich, da ist eine Schranke. Diese entpuppt sich dann aber als junger Baum, der an der B\u00f6schung abgerutscht ist. Mit der Machete schafft Ralph es, ihn zu beseitigen. Das war aber noch nicht das Ende, denn als n\u00e4chstes ragt das Ende eines dicken Baumstamms in den ohnehin engen Weg. Ich steige aus und lotse Ralph dran vorbei. Nach 35 Minuten haben wir die 4,4 km geschafft, finden dann aber keinen Platz f\u00fcr unsere Mittagspause. Erst gegen 15h k\u00f6nnen wir bei den Salinen vor Cahuil anhalten. Wir erstehen dann auch noch direkt ein Badesalz und Honig. Gerade als wir wieder losfahren, kommt uns ein gro\u00dfes Wohnmobil mit schweizer Zulassung entgegen. Also halten nochmal in einer Parkbucht an und quatschen eine halbe Stunde mit Aneta und Marcel. Dann geht es noch weiter bis Pichilemu an die Playa Ballena, wo wir mal wieder alleine sind. Am Morgen ist es diesig und verraucht. Wir hatten gestern einen Waldbrand gesehen und k\u00f6nnen heute Helikopter beobachten, die mit gro\u00dfen Wassers\u00e4cken unterwegs sind. Wir bringen erstmal unsere W\u00e4sche weg und fahren dann weiter zur Playa Principales. Dort herrscht ziemlich reger Betrieb. \u00dcberall werden Strandartikel angeboten und an der Stra\u00dfe ist ein Restaurant neben dem anderen. Wir k\u00f6nnen uns dann auch noch ein Mittagessen, ehe wir zur\u00fcck zur Playa Ballena fahren, wo wir schon ein paar Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr unser morgiges Silvestermen\u00fc angehen. Der Strand ist inzwischen auch deutlich voller geworden und das Wetter ist etwas aufgeklart. Leider ist nur 1 Surfer in den Wellen unterwegs. Wir haben beide nicht gut geschlafen und vertr\u00f6deln den Morgen. Um 13:30h kommt die Nachricht, dass wir unsere W\u00e4sche abholen k\u00f6nnen. Danach geht es an die Vorbereitung f\u00fcr unser Essen. Als wir Diner for One schauen wollen, macht mein Laptop Probleme und erkennt das Laufwerk nicht. Anschlie\u00dfend gibt es Probleme mit der Batterie. Nach ca. 1,5 Stunden Wandlerbetrieb schl\u00e4gt unser Panel mal wieder Alarm und sagt, dass wir nur noch 80 Ah Kapazit\u00e4t haben (bei einer Entladung von 4-6 Ah). So verbringen wir den Abend mit Essen und spielen. Um 23.58h h\u00f6ren wir die ersten Raketen. Schnell ziehen wir Schuhe an und gehen raus. Es ist zwar Knallerei zu h\u00f6ren, aber nichts zu sehen. Nach ein paar Minuten werden ein St\u00fcck entfernt ca. 4-5 Raketen abgeschossen und das war es dann. Gegen 1h gehen wir ins Bett. Herzlich willkommen 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly before Christmas, Karin and Detlef, whom we met in Uruguay for the 1st time, also arrive at the playa. Together we spend nice Christmas days with good food, good conversations and walks. As a farewell we have a campfire on the beach. We continue our journey and they stay a few more days. In Constitucion we inquire about tickets for the narrow-gauge railroad to ….. However, these can only be bought shortly before departure. So, we only take care of a few purchases and look for an overnight place at the beach. After a short walk we decide to move a bit further down the street, because there is a bigger place. We skip the ride on the narrow-gauge train, because we would have had to get out early, there is no parking at the station, we would have had a several hours stay in …. and there it is roaring hot. Instead, we continue along the coastal road to the fishing port of Puerto Mahuillin. There it is teeming with seagulls hoping for prey. After a short stroll, we drive back to town and get some cash. Afterwards we take course to the dunes of Put\u00fa. Unfortunately, we see the 1st access road too late and it is also very narrow. The 2nd access road is quite far away from the dunes. Therefore we only stop for a lunch break and then drive to La Trichera, where we camp next to the Camping Municipal. In the morning we continue towards Pichimelu. However, the drive becomes a little adventure. First our navigation system wants to send us over an extremely narrow and steep road. We rather take the 850 and the 830. At the beginning everything works fine. Then we want to have lunch break, but decide to first drive the last 4.4 km of unpaved road. The road becomes narrower and narrower and then is only a path. We hope there\u2019ll be no oncoming cars. No chance that we pass each other, because right and left of us the slope is \u00bd meter high. Suddenly I think there is a gate. But it turns out to be a young tree that has slipped down the embankment. With the machete Ralph manages to remove it. But that wasn’t the end of it, because the stump of a thick tree trunk protrudes into the already narrow path. I get out and guide Ralph past it. After 35 minutes we have made the 4.4 km, but then find no place for our lunch break. Only around 15h we can stop at the salt works before Cahuil. We buy directly a bath salt and honey. Just as we drive off again, a large motorhome with Swiss registration comes towards us. We stop again in a parking bay and chat half an hour with Aneta and Marcel. Then we continue to Playa Ballena in Pichimelu, where we are alone again. In the morning it is hazy and smoky. Yesterday we had seen a forest fire and today we can observe helicopters that are on their way with big water bags. We first bring our clothes to a laundry and then continue to Playa Principales. There is quite a lot of activity. Everywhere beach articles are offered and at the street is one restaurant next to another. We go for a lunch before we drive back to Playa Ballena, where we already start some preparations for our New Year’s Eve menu tomorrow. In the meantime, the beach has become much more crowded and the weather has cleared up a bit. Unfortunately, there is only 1 surfer in the waves. We both have not slept well and fritter away the morning. At 13:30h we get the message that we can pick up our laundry. After that we start preparing for our meal. When we want to watch Diner for One, my laptop does not recognize the drive. After that there are problems with the cabin batteries. After about 1.5 hours of converter operation, our panel once again sounds an alarm and says that we only have 80 Ah capacity left (with a discharge of 4-6 Ah). So, we spend the evening with eating and playing games. At 23.58h we hear the first rockets. Quickly we put on shoes and go outside. There are bangs to be heard, but nothing to be seen.
