Es ist jetzt schon eine Weile her, da\u00df wir den letzten Blog hochgeladen haben. Das hat mehrere Gr\u00fcnde. Inzwischen finden wir kaum noch einen ge\u00f6ffneten Campingplatz und so haben wir oft keinen Internetzugang; warum auch immer, kommen wir bei Walmart nicht mehr ins Netz. Dann waren wir aber auch beide einige Tage gesundheitlich angeschlagen und abends fix und fertig und hatten dann keine Lust mehr, noch was zu schreiben. Zus\u00e4tzlich hatten wir dann auch noch ein paar kleinere technische Probleme, die jedoch Vorrang hatten. Aber nun zur\u00fcck zu unserer Reise.
\nWir sind in der N\u00e4he von Montreal auf den Campingplatz am Port Plaisir in Longueuil gegangen. \u00c4hnlich wie in Quebeck konnten wir von dort mit \u00f6ffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln in die Stadt fahren. Allerdings mussten wir hier ca. 1,7 km zu Fu\u00df zum U-Bahnhof laufen. Von dort ging es dann mit 1 x umsteigen nach Montreal in die Innenstadt. Am ersten Tag war das Wetter durchwachsen; d.h. es war grau und hat zwischendurch immer wieder geregnet. Wir sind zuerst zum VIC und dann durch die Innenstadt bis zu den Markthallen gelaufen. Das Stadtbild ist gepr\u00e4gt von Gegens\u00e4tzen. Alte Geb\u00e4ude stehen direkt neben modernen Hochh\u00e4usern. Das ganze wirkt aber trotzdem beeindruckend. Auch macht die Stadt einen lebhaften Eindruck. Es sind viele Einheimische unterwegs. Am zweiten Tag lassen wir unsere Kameras direkt im Auto. Es ist schlechtes Wetter angesagt und wir wollen in der Unterwelt bleiben. Montreal hat 32 km unterirdischer Wege mit Gesch\u00e4ften, Restaurants, Hotels etc. Das ganze wurde gebaut, damit die Montrealer in den kalten Wintern nicht ins Verkehrschaos m\u00fcssen. An unserem letzten Tag in Montreal machen wir uns erst sp\u00e4t auf den Weg in die Stadt und wir nehmen die Fotoausr\u00fcstung f\u00fcr Nachtaufnahmen mit. Wie sich dann herausstellt, war die Schlepperei jedoch umsonst. Es bleibt den ganzen Tag regnerisch und tr\u00fcb. Vom Mont Royal ist so gut wie nichts zu sehen und so machen wir uns fr\u00fcher auf den Weg zur\u00fcck zum Auto als geplant. Auf dem Weg zur U-Bahn gehen wir vor lauter Verzweiflung sogar freiwillig in die „Barbie Haute Couture“ Ausstellung und machen dort Fotos. Ralph hat sich auch noch eine ordentliche Erk\u00e4ltung zugezogen. Die ganze Nacht regnet und st\u00fcrmt es und wir werden ganz sch\u00f6n durchgesch\u00fcttelt. Bei der Abreise am n\u00e4chsten Morgen scheint dann die Sonne und als wir zur Weiterfahrt durch Montreal fahren, sehen wir, was wir in den 3 Tagen alles nicht gesehen haben.
\nDa wir in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen im Grenzgebiet von Quebec und Ontario unterwegs sind und \u00f6fters hin und her fahren, ich aber die Berichte nach Provinzen zusammengefasst habe, ist der Bericht an dieser Stelle nicht chronologisch. Am Mittwoch besuchen wir den Gatineau Park gegen\u00fcber von Ottawa. Wir haben etwas von H\u00f6hlen, die man besichtigen kann, gelesen. Im VIC wird uns dieser Zahn aber sofort gezogen. Wir m\u00fcssten durch bis zu knietiefes Wasser laufen. Ohne Gummistiefel und mit unseren Erk\u00e4ltungen \u2013 inzwischen hat es micht auch erwischt \u2013 macht das keinen Sinn. Die Beratung ist aber sehr gut und so verlassen wir das VIC mit ein paar guten Infos und Routenvorschl\u00e4gen. Wir machen zwei Wanderungen im Park. Eine f\u00fchrt uns zu einem Wasserfall und den Ruinen einer alten M\u00fchle und die zweite zum Mackenze-King Estate. Leider ist der Tearoom hier auch schon geschlossen und so verlassen wir Quebeck dann endg\u00fcltig.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a while since we last uploaded a blog. This has multiple reasons. Meanwhile we hardly find open campgrounds and therefore don\u2019t have WiFi most of the time; for whatever reasons we can\u2019t log into the Walmart Wifi anymore. Additionally we both had a cold and were totally knackered in the evenings and didn\u2019t want to write anything. Last but not least we had some minor technical issues but they had priority. But now back to our trip.
\nClose to Montreal we took camp in the Port Plaisir marina in Langueuil. Similar as in Quebec we could go into town with public transportation. However, here we had to walk 1.7 km to the underground station. From there we had to switch lines once to get into the city. Our first stop was at the VIC and then we strolled through the city until we reached the old market halls. We see old buildings directly beside new and modern skyscrapers. The city is impressive and seems to be very lively. We see a lot of locals. On the 2nd day we don\u2019t take our cameras with us. The weather forecast is bad and we pane to stay in the underground. Montreal has 32 km underground streets with restaurants, shops, hotels etc. The whole system was developed so that Montrealeans don\u2019t need to get out during the cold winters. On our last day we only leave the campground in the late morning and we carry all the photo equipment for night shots with us. However, due to the weather \u2013 it rains all day and is grey; we could have saved the effort. We can hardly see Mount Royal and therefore go back early. On our was to the next underground station we even stop ar the „Barbie Haute Couture“ exhibition and take some photoshop. Ralph has got a bad cold as well. It keeps raining and gets pretty stormy all night. The next morning is sunny and on our further way we have to partially go through Montreal. We now see what we missed during the 3 days we spent in Montreal.
\nSince the next couple of days we switch back and forth between Quebec and Ontario but I grouped the blogs by province, the events are not in chronological sequence. We spend Wednesday in the Gatineau Park directly opposite from Ottawa. We read something about caves that can be visited but in the VIC are told that we would have to go through knee-deep water. Without rubber boots and with our colds \u2013 I got it meanwhile as well \u2013 this doesn\u2019t make sense. The lady is very helpful and we leave the VIC with some good information and proposals for trips. We do two short hiking trips. One leads us to a waterfall and the ruins of an old mill and the other to the Mackenzie-King Estate.
