Argentinien: Anreise und Tigre

Am 24.01.2022 geht es für uns in die finale Phase der Vorbereitung. Um 15:00h sind wir in Düsseldorf zum PCR Test. Die Ergebnisse (wie erwartet beide negativ) bekommen wir gegen 22:15h. Jetzt können wir die ganzen Online Formulare für die Einreise nach Argentinien erledigen. Das geht relativ schnell und wir haben die erforderlichen Dokumente. Dann will ich noch ein Angebot von Iberia nutzen. Man kann da alle Dokumente hochladen und sie werden vorab geprüft. Also erledigen wir das auch noch schnell. Am Morgen haben wir dann beide eine Mail, dass der PCR Test nicht ok ist oder noch fehlt. Also lade ich die nochmal hoch. Eine halbe Stunde später kommt wieder die Mail, dass der PCR Test fehlt. Bevor ich sie jetzt nochmal hochlade, schaue ich mir die pdf-Datei an und da fällt mir auf, dass die ja mit einem Passwort geschützt sind. Also speichere ich sie ohne Passwort und lade sie wieder hoch. Während Ralph wieder die gleiche Mail wie vorher bekommt, steht bei mir jetzt drin, dass die Daten des PCR-Tests nicht mit den Daten der anderen Dokumente übereinstimmen und ich früh zum Check-in kommen soll, damit nochmal alles geprüft werden kann. Warum haben wir uns vor über 35 Jahren nur für Ralphs Nachnamen entschieden? Das ö und das ß machen im Ausland immer wieder Schwierigkeiten. Mit meinem Familiennamen hätten wir die Probleme nicht gehabt. Laut telefonischer Auskunft der Hotline öffnen die Check-in Schalter 4 Stunden vor Abflug. Also bringt Fred uns am Mittwoch am späten Mittag zum Flughafen. Wir lassen noch schnell unsere Taschen mit Schrumpffolie einwickeln und dann geht es zum Check-in Schalter. Dort taucht aber erst gut 2 Stunden vor Abflug jemand auf. Wir werden gefragt, ob wir alle Unterlagen haben, der Mann am Check-in wirft einen flüchtigen Blick drauf und dann geht es zum Gate. Der Flug nach Madrid ist nur ca. 30-40% ausgebucht. In Madrid gehen wir dann auf Wanderschaft, da wir in ein anderes Terminal müssen. Einen Teil der Strecke legen wir wieder mit dem Zug zurück und gehen dann direkt zum Gate. Dort bekommen wir schon einen Eindruck, wie voll es im Flieger wird. Als unser Flug aufgerufen wird, bemerken wir, dass er unter 3 verschiedenen Flugnummern geführt wird. Der A350 ist dann auch fast komplett ausgebucht. In unserer Nachbarschaft sind Familien mit kleinen Kindern. Eines (ich schätze auf ca. 10 Monate) weint dann nachts auch sehr viel. Es war also keine ruhige Nacht für uns. Kurz nachdem wir um Mitternacht abgehoben haben, bekommen wir noch ein vollständiges Abendessen, morgens dann aber nur ein Baguette. Umgekehrt wäre mir lieber gewesen. Dafür läuft dann die Einreise relativ zügig und problemlos ab. Schnell haben wir unsere 90 Tage Visa und auch unser Gepäck passiert die Kontrolle ohne irgendwelche Fragen. Jetzt gilt es, den vorbestellten Fahrer zu finden. Nach ein paar Minuten ist auch das geschafft und gegen Mittag sind wir in Tigre und wieder mit Albatros vereint. Nach 16 Monaten unter Nadelbäumen sieht Albatros von außen furchtbar aus. Ralphs größte Befürchtung, dass sich im Inneren Ameisen oder andere Insekten eingenistet haben, ist zum Glück unbegründet. Auf dem Dach liegt eine dicke Schicht Blätter und Nadeln (Ralph sagt, man könnte dort einen Wald pflanzen). Dadurch wurden natürlich die Batterien nicht über die Solaranlage versorgt und wir müssen alle 3 austauschen. Dank Sebastians Hilfe bekommen wir dann nach ein paar Tagen neue Batterien. Die haben allerdings andere Maße (Starterbatterie) bzw. andere Anschlüsse (Gel-Batterien im Aufbau). Also ist mal wieder Improvisation gefragt. Bis wir alle passenden Teile haben und alles anschließen können vergehen noch ein paar Tage. Ach ja, der Kühlschrank kühlt nun auch auf 220V nicht mehr. Mit 12V hatten wir ja schon vorher Probleme. Ich suche im Internet nach einer Alternative, was aber auch wieder schwierig ist, weil die meisten Kühlschränke hier höher sind. Ich finde nur einen, der passen würde. Sebastian schlägt vor, dass wir unseren erst mal durch den Techniker, der auch die Kühlschränke aus ihrer Flotte wartet, checken lassen. Da er bei ihm sowieso einen Kühlschrank abholen muss, nimmt er unseren direkt mit. Nach ein paar Tagen kommt der Anruf. Alles funktioniert wieder einwandfrei und die Reparatur kostet uns ca. € 35. Jetzt muss er nur noch in der Stadt abgeholt werden. Wir haben ja 2020, als wir nach Deutschland zurück sind, die vorübergehende Einfuhrgenehmigung (TIP) für Albatros unterbrechen lassen. Das müssen wir jetzt wieder rückgängig machen. Auch hier kommt erst eine Nachfrage, wie denn unser Nachname richtig wäre – das ö wird an der Grenze immer zum o und das ß zum b und ich konnte die Zöllner nie davon überzeugen, dass das falsch ist und sie doch die internationale Schreibweise nehmen sollen – und dann bekommen wir schon für den nächsten Tag einen Termin. Der Papierkram ist dann auch schnell erledigt, aber jetzt müssen wir noch auf die „Inspektion“ warten. In ca. 7-10 Tagen kommt jemand vom Zoll, um zu prüfen, dass das Fahrzeug nicht bewegt wurde und dass die Fahrgestellnummer noch richtig ist. Selbst dann kann es noch ein paar Tage dauern, bis wir endlich fahren dürfen. Das Wetter war die ersten Tage ziemlich heiß (um die 30°C) und drückend und macht Ralph ziemlich zu schaffen. Er muss sich zwischendurch immer wieder mal hinlegen. Inzwischen hat es 2 x geregnet und ist etwas abgekühlt. Erstaunlicherweise hat Ralph hier nachts fast keine Probleme mit Beinkrämpfen und er schläft relativ gut. Das war Zuhause ja komplett anders. Nachdem wir alle Batterien wieder angeschlossen haben, und es auch etwas abgekühlt ist, machen wir am Samstag unsere erste Sightseeingtour. Tigre ist ein Naherholungsgebiet für die Einwohner von Buenos Aires. Man kann von hier aus mit Booten Ausflüge in das Delta des Rio Paraná de las Palmas machen. Da es aber „nur“ 23°C und etwas windig ist, ist es uns für einen Bootsausflug zu kalt. Wir laufen am Fluss entlang zum Hafen und schlendern über den „Feria Puerto de Frutos“, einem Mix aus Floh- und Kunsthandwerkermarkt. Im Laufe der Woche sind erst Holländer (ihr Auto wurde auf dem Schiff nach Montevideo aufgebrochen, komplett durchwühlt und vieles gestohlen) und später noch ein Deutscher auf den Platz gekommen und wir verbringen zusammen einige Stunden mit Erfahrungsaustausch und Reiseplanung. Diese Woche kommt wahrscheinlich noch ein ungarisches Paar dazu. Sie waren bis jetzt 2 x hier, um einen Wagen, den sie (ungesehen) gekauft haben, zu übernehmen und zu putzen.

On Jan 24 we enter the final phase of preparation. At 15:00h we have an appointment in Düsseldorf for the PCR test. We get the results (as expected both negative) around 22:15h. Now we can do all the online forms for the entry to Argentina. This is done relatively fast. Next, I want to use a service from Iberia. You can upload all documents and they are checked in advance. So, we do that quickly as well. Then in the morning we both have a mail that the PCR test is not ok or still missing. I upload them again but half an hour later there is a mail again that the PCR test is missing. Before I upload them a 3^rd time, I take a look at the pdf file and realize that they are password protected. I save them without password and upload them again. While Ralph gets the same mail as before, mine now says that the data of the PCR test do not match the data of the other documents and that I should come to the check-in early in order everything can be checked again. Why did we only choose Ralph’s last name over 35 years ago? The ö and the ß always cause difficulties abroad. With my last name, we would not have had these problems. According to the hotline, the check-in counters open 4 hours before departure. Fred drives us to the airport on Wednesday late noon. We quickly have our bags wrapped with shrink wrap and then we go to the check-in counter. But they only open about 2 hours before departure. We are asked if we have all the documents, the man at the check-in takes a quick look and then we go to the gate. The flight to Madrid is only about 30-40% full. In Madrid we have to go to another terminal. Part of the way we take the train and then go directly to the gate. There we already get an impression how crowded it will be in the plane. When our flight is called, we notice that it is listed under 3 different flight numbers. The A350 is then almost completely booked. In our neighborhood are families with small children. One (I estimate at about 10 months) cries a lot during the night. So, it was not a quiet night for us. Shortly after we took off at midnight, we get a full dinner, but then in the morning only a baguette. I would have preferred tit he other way round. The entry process is relatively quick and smooth. Quickly we get our 90 days visas and our luggage passes the control without any questions. Now we have to find the pre-booked driver. After a few minutes this is also done and around noon we are in Tigre and reunited with Albatros. After 16 months under coniferous trees, Albatros looks terrible from the outside. Ralph’s biggest fear that ants or other insects have taken up residence inside is fortunately unfounded. There is a thick layer of leaves and needles on the roof (Ralph says you could plant a forest there). Of course, this meant that the batteries were not powered by the solar system and we have to replace all 3. Thanks to Sebastian’s help we get new batteries after a few days. But they have different dimensions (starter battery) or different connections (gel batteries in the body). So once again improvisation is needed. Until we have all the right parts and can connect everything, it takes a few more days. Oh yes, the refrigerator doesn’t cool anymore on 220V, too. With 12V we already had problems before. I’m looking on the Internet for an alternative, which is again difficult, because most refrigerators here are higher. I only find one that would fit. Sebastian suggests that we first have ours checked by the technician who also maintains the refrigerators from their fleet. Since he has to pick up a refrigerator from him anyway, he takes ours directly into town. After a few days the guy calls, that everything works fine again and the repair costs us about € 35. Now it only has to be picked up in the city. In 2020, when we returned to Germany, we had the temporary import permit (TIP) for Albatros interrupted. Now we have to cancel this again. Here, too, we are first asked how our surname should be spelled correctly – the ö always becomes an o and the ß a b at the border and I could never convince the customs officers that this is wrong and that they should use the international spelling – and then we get an appointment for the next day. The paperwork is done quickly, but now we have to wait for the „inspection“. In about 7-10 days someone from customs will come to check that the vehicle has not been moved and that the VIN is still correct. Even then, it may take a few more days before we are finally allowed to drive. The weather has been pretty hot (around 30°C) and oppressive for the first few days, and Ralph is struggling with it. He has to lie down every now and then. In the meantime, it has rained twice and cooled down a bit. Surprisingly, Ralph has almost no problems with leg cramps here at night and he sleeps relatively well. That was completely different at home. After we have reconnected all batteries and it has cooled down a bit, we do our first sightseeing tour on Saturday. Tigre is a recreation area for the inhabitants of Buenos Aires. One can do boat tours into the delta of the Rio Paraná de las Palmas. But since it is „only“ 23°C and a bit windy, it is too cold for us for such a boat trip. We walk along the river to the harbor and stroll over the „Feria Puerto de Frutos“, a mix of flea and handicraft market. In the course of the week, first Dutchmen (their car was broken into on the boat to Montevideo, completely ransacked and many things stolen) and later a German came to our place and we spend a few hours together exchanging experiences and planning our trips. This week a Hungarian couple will probably join us. They have been here twice so far to take over and clean a car they bought (unseen).
